*Max's pov*
I'm finally getting my cast today. Ever sense I saw Amber, I had to wait three days to get surgery to remove all the debris from my legs, face, and arms. But now I can finally see Maddy. I'm sure she's going to hit me for worrying her, but I'll still be glad to see her. I turned on the TV.
"Following story" it said
"Almost six days ago, a serious crash along I76 left 21 year old Max (his last name) and 16 year old Madeline Dahlburg in the hospital, one still in critical condition." Pictures of the crash appeared on the screen. "Officials are still puzzled about the other driver. There were only a few witnesses, but they say right before the two cars collided, they saw a flash of brown and green pixelated blocks fly out of the driver and passenger side."
'That's weird' I thought. 'It kind of reminds me of-'
The door nob opened, and a nurse came into the room.
"Max (his last name)?" She asked
I scrambled for the TV remote and quickly turned it off.
*Time skip to 1:00 am*
Well this is it. I can finally see Maddy.
Amber walked into the room.
"Ready?" She asked.
I nodded and grabbed my crutches. Amber looked down at my cast.
"Nice color," she complemented.
I looked down at my yellow cast.
"Thanks" I smiled. "Now let's go!"
Amber widened the door for me and as fast as I could, I wobbled my way over to the elevator. One of the nurses saw me and Amber at the elevator. The elevator opened and closed right as she was about to block it.
"That was a close one," Max said.
"Be more careful next time. Your loud enough to wake up everyone in the hospital." Amber laughed.
What seamed like forever, the elevator finally opened and I wobbled my way the the right.
"This way," Amber whispered to me.
I turned myself around and started going to the left.
"Here we are," Amber said at the end of the hallway.
I noticed the door was already opened. Was a doctor or a nurse in here? Amber opened the door, and I walked in. Where I was greeted by two people I haven't seen in a long time.
"Max?" The teenage boy asked.
"Jacob!" I dropped my crutches and embraced his warm hug. "Oh my gosh it really is you! It's been so long!"
We finally pulled apart. "How are things with you and Barney?"
"Things are great," Barney said giving me a hug.
"It's so nice to see you both!" I exclaimed.
"Hey Jacob!" Amber said.
Jacob waived to Amber.
"Are... You here to see Maddy?" Jacob asked.
"Of course! Where is she?" I asked craning my neck not to find her on the bed.
Jacob and Barney looked at each other for a second. "Ok, but-" I shoved Barney aside worryingly.
I hopped on my good foot to the bed. I looked up to see Maddy wide awake, hands on the window seal, looking out at the moon and stars.
"Maddy," I said in relief.
I hopped over to her and put my hand on her shoulder. She turned over to me with a confused look in her milky brown eye.
"I'm sorry," she said with a distressed look on her face. "Do-do I know you?"
HAHAHA CLIFF HANGER AGAIN! I feel so evil. So if like to introduce JPierson20 into the story. So sorry for putting you in later (not in the book) than I expected. And yea. Thanks for reading so far.
