*Maddy's pov*
"Maddy," I heard someone whispered into my ear.
"Mmhhh. Five more minutes," I groaned still not opening my eyes.
I snuggled closer next to whatever was leaning on me.
"Come on," the voice whispered.
I finally opened my eyes to find myself in Max's arms. It startled me for a few seconds, but then I remembered he was just trying to comfort me.
"Why don't we go out for dinner tonight?" He asked me.
I finally got my head off of his shoulders and looked at the clock. Instead of reading 2:00 p.m., it read 7:00 p.m.
Max released me from his arms as I started to stretch. I finally got myself off of the couch.
"Go get cleaned up," he said, "I'll decide wheee we should go.
"Who's coming?" I asked, still yawning.
Max shrugged.
"Whoever wants to. Mostly everyone's at work, and Ross and Tim went to the store. They probably won't get back for a while, so maybe you, me, Amber, Jacob, and Alesa. Mason's with his grandparents for the week."
I nodded. Max got up from the couch, and went upstairs to Jacob's room. I grabbed some clothes and was about to go into the bathroom, when I heard Alesa call for me upstairs. I dropped my clothes on the sink and walked upstairs where Alesa was. In her bedroom.
"What do you need?" I asked.
She turned around and faced me.
"What took you so long?" She asked.
"I was about to-"
"Never mind," she said. "Do you mind if you help me with something?"
"Oh, um, Max is taking us all out for dinner, and-"
"That's nice of him. Where are we going?" She asked
"I'm not sure. I have to go-"
"That's alright. Do you mind if you help me pick an outfit? I want to be ok when I go out for dinner. It's been so long!"
"Yeah, I know. That's why I need to clean-" I began.
"You'll help? Great!" Alesa said. "Here,"
She handed me a bunch of clothes. She grabbed one, and went into the bathroom to change.
I'll never get through all of these, I thought. Maybe if I sneak out-
"How do I look?" Alesa asked me.
To me, she looked ridiculous, but I just said she looked fine to be nice.
She looked in the mirror for a few seconds, turning to look at herself from all angles.
"I don't like it," she said.
She grabbed another outfit from me, and went to change.
"Don't go anywhere," I heard Alesa's muffled voice from the bathroom.
I sat on her bed and sighed. This might take a while...
*Max's pov*
I knocked on Jacob's door. When he didn't answer, I let myself in. He looked more troubled then normal. He was on his bed, with his headphones on, looking through his phone.
"Jacob?" I asked.
He noticed me in the door way, and took of his headphones.
"Yeah? What's up?" He asked.
"We're going out to dinner soon. Do you mind if you come with us?" I asked.
"Sure," he said unenthusiastically.
"Hey, are you ok?" I asked him as I walked in and sat on his bed.
"Yeah, yeah, I'm fine," he said like he was snapping out of his own thoughts.
"I know it's none of my business, but is there something going on between you and Barney?" I asked.
"What?" Jacob sounded surprised. "No, no, everything's fine. Great even. Everything's just fine. I'll come with you guys."
Still not convinced, I left his room to find Amber.
*later*
"Is everyone ready to go?" I asked, still not spotting Maddy.
"Yup! I can't wait to try out a steak restaurant!" Amber said excitedly.
"You've never been to one?" Jacob asked curiously.
Amber froze, but then shook her head.
"Hey max, can we take two cars?" Alesa asked.
"Sure," I replied, I bit curious. "Does anyone know where Maddy is?"
Everyone shook her head.
"No, sorry," Alesa said.
"Why don't you guys go ahead," I said. "I'll go look for Maddy."
Alesa was about to object, but Jacob backed me up.
"Sure, this place never has any open seats. Especially on a Friday night," He said.
Jacob was the last one to walked out the door. When I started to close it, I quietly called out to Jacob.
"Thanks," I said quietly.
He nodded back at me, and started to walk to the car.
I shut the front door, and started downstairs.
"Maddy," I called.
I looked and found the bathroom door open. I knew she wasn't in there, but I saw her spare clothes on the sink.
Did she never shower? I thought to myself.
I bit more worried, I went back upstairs, and peered through Alesa's bedroom door. Maddy was on Alesa's bed. Sprawled out, and unconscious.
Dun dun dun. I feel like every chapter I make, it always ends with a cliff hanger. Well, there's one way to keep everyone interested. Hehehe. So I might decide to make a Max X reader (inspired my me good ol pall JPierson20 ). Its just a thought for now, but I'm already working out the plot and everything. "Just a thought" I say. *makes up an entire plot diagram* still just a thought.
Be brave.
Stay strong.
Always shine!

FanfictionFinal part to incredibly cringy story series. Looking back at the book, it was really dark, and messed up. There's a lot of "uncomfortable and triggering" thing in here, so I advise those types of people not to read it. I was in a really dark place...
