*Maddy's pov*
I jolted awake with a splitting headache.
What happened?
I tried to touch my head, thinking it would sooth it, but my hands were tied down
"What the..."
I started to panic. I wanted to scream. I looked around me.
Why am I still at the house? I thought. What's going on?
Just then, I heard footsteps. I stopped struggling and acted like I was still asleep.
"Maddy," the voice said. "Are you awake yet?"
I instantly knew who it was.
"Max!" I said relieved. "Thank God it's you!"
But he didn't answer.
"Which Maddy am I talking to?" He asked.
I was taken aback at the question.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
When he didn't answer I asked more clearly.
"What. Do. You. Mean?"
He ran his hands through his finger hair and started to pace around the room.
"I-I'm not so sure anymore." He said.
Worry clouded his eyes. "One minute you were you... the next you were... something else."
"Something else..." I repeated.
We sat in silence for a few moments.
"You-" he hesitated.
"You were awake. Me and Barney were with you. We thought- we thought that you were back to normal. Up until the point you," he stopped.
"What?" I asked. "Why did I do?"
He hesitated some more.
"You-you tried to kill me."
I looked at him horrified.
"I did WHAT?"
Max looked away.
"You, weren't yourself. I thought I was talking to you, but I wasn't. I tried to convince myself it wasn't really you, but I was just so happy to see you awake, I, I forgot to keep my guard up. The next thing I knew, you had your hands around my neck, trying to choke me to death.
This is all my fault. Why did you think you could ever be happy. You tried to kill another person. Why don't you just die so you can rid everyone else's sadness.
I tear slipped out of my eye.
Max looked at me. He came over to the chair I was tied up in, and whipped the tear from my cheek.
"Hey," he said trying to comfort me. "It's ok, see? I'm ok, you're ok. We're all ok."
But I didn't see it like that. How could I.
"I-I tried to kill you," I whispered.
"No," Max said. "That wasn't you. I knew that from the beginning, but I chose to ignore it. It was never your fault. It was none of ours."
But I didn't believe him. How could I?
Max untied me from the chair, and gave me a hug.
"We'll figure this out. I promise."
I nodded, too emotional to speak.
We both stood up.
"Are you going to be ok if I run to the store really quickly? We're out of food. I'll probably be back in 10 minutes with a frozen pizza."
I just nodded again. Ill be alone for around ten minutes. Maybe that'll give me enough time to get a few cuts in. I have to pay for the crimes I did.
Max let go of me and ruffled my hair.
"Then I'll see you soon."
He left me standing alone downstairs. After I heard a click of the door, I ran to the bathroom.

*10ish min. Later, Max's pov.*
"Maddy I'm back!" I said, dropping the groceries on the counter.
When she didn't respond I called her name again.
"Maddy!" Still no response.
Oh no! I thought she's doing it.
I dropped everything else I had and ran down stairs. Sure enough, the bathroom light was on, and I heard Maddy sniffling in the background.
"Maddy open the door!" I said.

*Maddy's pov.*
Pay for what you've done. I thought sniffling.
"Maddy open the door!" Max shouted.
Was he back already?
"Maddy!" Max shouted louder. "Maddy open up!"
"I-I" I tried to think of an excuse, but I had none.
"Maddy just stop whatever you're doing and open the stupid door!"
He already knows. I thought. It's too late.
"Just leave me alone!" I shouted at him.
"I'm not just going to leave you!" Max shouted back.
I slip down the bathroom wall, dropping the knife. It's already too late.
Wether it was because I haven't ate anything sense I blacked out, or just pure stress, I felt dizzy and blacked out.
So thanks for reading another chapter, blah blah blah you get the Just of it all. So I'm sad to say the book is obviously or not coming to an end. The series is not ending yet though. I still have one more book everyone has to sit  around and wait for. The last chapter, I'll tell you what the new book is called, and another chapter to tell you WHEN the book is out. So sit tight and let me write. Also. I was going to take a picture of the idk if it's fan art, or what? But I think it's ship art. Anyways. I drew Barney and Jacob together, but it is a little wierd. I was going to put it here, but if you want me to make a drawing book to show you how bad of a drawer I am, then tell me in the comments. And yea that's all. Have a weirdly amazing day!
