*Max's Pov*
I heard a click of the front door, and turned around to see Barney walk through the door. He had something in his pocket.
"I can't here as fast as I could," he said breathlessly.
He walked over, carefully examining Maddy.
"It looks serious," he said darkly. "Jacob, can you lift her up with me, we can put her on the couch?"
He nodded. And started to walk over.
I was about to protest, when Barney finished my thoughts.
"You're not helping," he said. "I need to take a look at your foot first.
Sense when has he become a doctor? I asked myself.
After the couple heaved Maddy onto the couch, Barney crouched down to take a look at my foot.
"She won't be able to move,"he said. "At least not for a while. Only until her stomach wounds heal."
"I'm worried about that." I said. "Someone's after her. And once she sees the giant scars on her stomach, she'll know it too."
"That's why you wrapped her stomach up, isn't it?" Barney asked.
I nodded.
"You can't hide her from the truth forever," he reminded me.
"I know, I know," I said almost screaming out in pain as Barney started to pull out glass shards from my foot. "She's just going through so much lately. More than anyone I know."
I could see the fire in Jacob's eyes.
"Don't you know what I've gone through? What," Jacob looked at Barney. "we've been through? I lost my memory, been hunted down almost 3 times, Barney DIED, and YOU MY OEN FATHER WAS POSSESSED!"
Those words stung me like I got shot. I'm sure he could see the hurt in my eyes, but he kept going. "I went through depression, I was hypnotized, almost killing the only man I love. I murdered people Max! IM A MURDERER!"
He slid down the wall crying. Barney rushed to his side, running his hands through his hair.
"Shhh," he whispered "it all turned out ok, didn't it? I'm ok, you're ok."
He pulled Jacob's head to his chest.
"We're all going to be ok."
*Amber's pov*
I silently glided down the cave, careful not to disturb any loose blocks, or ivy leaves growing on the side of the mossy walls. When I landed, I didn't even hear my own footsteps. I crept through endless mossy tunnels, until finally, I reached the void. Flashbacks started to race through my mind.
This is where the battle happened. I reminded myself. I looked around. Even here, everything seemed 'off'.
"I told you it's not going to work!" A familiar voice shouted. I instantly recognized who it was.
I cautiously flew over the void, and softly landed on the other side, almost racing to get behind the corner. I looked over, but there was nothing there. Only a light. Coming from the end of the tunnel. I tip-toed over as fast as I could, hoping to prove wrong what I think was there. I neared the end of the tunnel, and looked over to see a tall, bald man, with a beard, and his son.
"It'll take to long!" Notch exclaimed. "Can't you speed these things up?"
"It's not my fault he isn't acting the way we want him to! It's more complicated than you think!" Cole exclaimed.
"How long does it take for you to make the new formula?" Notch asked, pacing around the carved out cave.
"By the third day, I can implant it." Cole replied, sure of his answer. He looked over to a lab table, on the far end of the cave. It had purple, and blue goo all over it.
"I know those didn't work, but I'm sure this new one can."
"It better," Notch grumbled. "Three days."
"Yes," Cole sighed. "Three days until we have full complete control of the test subject."
"Let's go," Notch said. "We can't stay for too long. Time here is a lot faster than out there."
Notch created a portal, and they both disappeared.
I waited to make sure they were gone. When I was sure they weren't coming back, at least for a while, I ran toward a containment cell. It was big enough to hold a person. It was filled with the blue goo. I peered into the glass. Behind all the blue goo, I found someone. Someone I'm sure everyone would want to see.
Hey pplz, hero here, and I want to say thank you for reading yet another chapter! So first to start off, I stealing this idea from TheJP20 (who you should totally check out) so you need to choose which food you would eat, then write it down in the comments. It will determine a part of the story later on in the next book (yes there's going to be a next book). SO here are your choices:
1) ice cream.
2) pizza.
3) rice.
4) cupcake.
If you choose an ending, I'll tell you the other option. It doesn't change too much, but eh, I couldn't decide, so I'm asking you pplz! Next, the book is coming to an end, as you can maybe or maybe not tell. I'm trying to decide what the cover should be cuz ya know, my covers are always weird. So I'll tell you what the book is called once I write some chapters. NEXT! So I really don't mind, but there's only 3 reads on my max X reader. WHICH IS TOTALLY FINE! I just want to let you know again, the story is out if you want to read it. I think that's it. Ok. So I hope you have an amazing day, like I am because I had 2 snow days, and yea as always,
