*Maddy's pov*
I sank down to the floor and covered my mouth. Was he the one I was looking for? Was he supposed to be my best friend? Or was he the one that almost killed me. More than once. Great job. A part of me thought. You made him cry.
I felt tears starting to fall down my right cheek. Everything is so frustrating. I don't remember anything other than learning, verily knowing the new person, I think his name was John? Barney? I'm not sure, and then the horrible memories. I don't know who I am, or what I am. I don't remember who was trying to kill me, or where I'll go. Everything is so black, so black. walked over to me and sat beside me. I guess I can trust him.
"Hey," he said. "How are you feeling?"
"I-I'm not sure," I said as I stopped crying. I curled myself into a smaller ball. "I guess I feel... what's the word?"
"Scared?" He asked.
"Yea. I guess so," I said shivering. "I just want to leave."
"I'll see what I can do tomorrow," Barney said back. "Me, Jacob, and Max will bust you out of here."
I tilted my head a little. "Who's Max?" I asked.
*Barney's pov.*
"Who's Max?" Maddy asked.
I looked away.
I can't believe it. I thought. Has she really forgotten everything? I know some memories are too scaring and they can never be erased, but still, she was Max's everything, and now I know exactly how he feels. When Jacob lost his memories, I was completely devastated. Luckily he remembered something, but maybe he was just one of the lucky ones. Maybe she won't remember.
"Barney?" Maddy asked.
I snapped out of my thoughts, and looked back at Maddy.
"Just rest up," I said. "Alesa is probably going to take you shopping tomorrow for new clothes. Your old ones are probably too small."
"Who's-" Maddy went limp for a brief second. She caught herself before I was able to.
"I-I remember something," she whispered with her hair blocking my view from her face. "Blood. Crimson, thick blood. Everywhere. Two people, one with red hair and one with blue, someone's name... Adam. I blacked out."
"Hey," I said. "Take it easy."
I finally got to see a glimpse of her face. There was an engrave on her cheek. It's some kind of symbol I'm sure I saw before. She looked at me, and it disappeared.
"Adam." She said. "I'm trying to find Adam."
"Maddy,"
She stood up.
"I'm supposed to find him. He was important to me somehow. He-"
She stumbled, and fell to the floor unconscious.
"Maddy!" I yelled. I scrambled over to her. She looked fine, but I just wasn't sure. I picked her up, and moved her to the bed. I looked around for Amber, but I guess she left. I looked at Maddy for the last time, breathing heavily, before I left the room to find Max, Amber, and Jacob.
*my pov*
Where am I? I thought.
I started to walk around in the dark empty space. I was barely able to see. When I looked down at the floor, I saw my hands, but they were... blocky? I just kept looking around. All of a sudden a part of the ceiling broke open, and a man with glowing white eyes flew down. I took a step backward so he could enter the dark room.
"Hey Maddy," he said. "How's it going?"
I started to get confused.
"Who are you?" I asked.
"Haha, very funny."
"No seriously, who are you? Are you the one that's trying to kill me?"
He looked shocked.
"Maddy, I would never want to kill you. Ever!" He said with a worried look on his face.
"Good," I started to relax. "So why are you here?"
"What do you mean 'why am I here?' This is where I live. Remember? Minecraft, blocks, your half home I guess?"
I took a step back. "I-I don't know. I don't remember anything!"
"Are you sure?" He asked. "You don't remember me? your dad? Your best friend?"
"She's telling the truth."
A man with purple and black wings, and a pair of green and black he's phones walked out of the shadows.
"She doesn't remember anything other than Barney, and right before she passed out."
"Are you sure?" The man with the glowing eyes asked. He looked at me.
"I already checked her memories. She lost everything."
"No," he whispered. "Oh Ava, what am I going to do now..."
The man with the wings came closer. I was about ready to punch him, but he just ruffled my hair.
"Don't trust anyone," he said. "Only those you remember, and love. If a tall man with a top hat starts to come at you with his kid, run and never stop."
I nodded.
"Good," he smiled. "See you on the other side."
I got pushed down and fell through the floor. As I was falling, I remembered someone. She didn't look like the girl with blue hair in my previous memory. She had a more softer look. Bright blue eyes, long, brown, silky hair. She was carrying me in her arms. I must have been really little. All of a sudden, someone or something broke down the door. Smoke and fire started to poor out of the next room. She looked at me with pitiful eyes, filled with tears, and pain. I got handed off to the man with glowing eyes. He looked at the person that was just carrying me.
"Go," she whispered, tears starting to fall down her beautiful face.
The man nodded, broke the window, jumped out and bolted, me in his arms. Leaving the women in the burning house with the murderers.
