Part 12

*jacobs perspective from before*
Barney put his hand around my waist and pulled my closer to him.
"I don't think you can save her" he said.
"I can't just watch her die in front of me," I argued. "Not again."
The monitor started to beep more and more. I pulled away from Barney and ran over to Maddy's bed and held a green flame in my hand.
"Are you sure about this?" Barney asked concerned. "You don't know if she actually will wake up. It might me a waist of energy."
I looked at Barney. "She's Max's everything. I can't just give up on her."
I continued to hold the green flame slightly above her. After almost ten minutes her heart beat started to return normal again. And five minutes after that, she was almost fine. All except her eye (go check out the last word again in the last chapter. I made a typo as usual 😎). She slowly opened her right eye and looked around. "Who-who are you?" She asked scared. "Please don't be one of them. Don't hurt me."
I looked back at Barney.
"Can't you fix her memories?" He asked.
I shook my head. "Memories isn't something you can fix. Only the person themselves can fix that.
I looked back at Maddy. She was wildly looking around but slowly starting to calm down.
"I'm Jacob," I said to her. "Over there is my boyfriend Barney." I pointed to him and he waived at her. Maddy waved back. "We aren't here to hurt you, I promise."
"People have broken promises to me before, I won't be surprised if you do to," she looked me in the eyes and squinted her right eye. Then she looked at Barney and pointed at him. "Hey, I-I think I know you."
I slammed my hands on the bed excitedly. "You do?" I asked.
As my hands hit the bed she put of her fists in self defense.
"Sorry," I apologized. "What do you know about him?"
"Well," she started to think. "Uh. Why is this so hard for me?(!)" she yelled and punched the wall, making a huge dent in it. "oops."
"Hey Jacob," Barney said to me and Maddy tried to cover the dent with pillows. "Why does Maddy remember only bad memories. Was it on purpose?"
I shook my head. "Some memories, are just too painful to forget."
I looked back at Maddy. "What do you remember?"
"Well..." She started to tell me about before she met Adam in reality. Her mom dying, her dad leaving, being beaten and abused, and abandoned. And being kidnapped and sent away to be tortured. If I went through that. I wouldn't nearly be as happy as she was before the accident. But I feel like she left out a part. She was about to say something, but she stopped herself and went onto the next painful experience. But what she said last really stuck with me.
"I'm trying to find someone. I-I can't explain what he looks like, or who he is to me. But I really need to find him. I don't think I can go on without him."
Me and Barney looked at each other. I walked over to him.
"She's still trying to find Adam," I whispered to him.
"Should we tell her about him?" Barney asked.
I shook my head.
"She needs to sort things out herself before she can start worrying about him. I bet you she's going to run off and try to find him herself."
Barney nodded. "We should go." He whispered in my ear.
I nodded and looked back at Maddy once more. "Me and Barney are going to go home." I said gently. "If you remember anything, write it down on the sheet of paper next to you. You know how to write, don't you?"
She nodded.
"Good. Make sure you do that whenever you remember anything.
She nodded. "But first, I want to look out there." She pointed to the window. I nodded and walked back to Barney who was waiting for me.
"Oh and Jacob," she called. "Barney was the one who laughed me when we went out for something. I don't exactly know what we were going out for, but I hope I can find out soon!" I smiled at her and I was about to open the door when I was greeted by Max and Amber.
Hey pplz. So sorry if this chapter is... Ya know. Horrible. I'm writing this at 6:00 in the morning and I'm tired and I can't go back to sleep. I have to wrap this chapter up but before I do...
