Chapter 3: Fight Over You (Pt. 1)
A few weeks after my brother came back.
When I came down to the first floor this morning as well, I met with my brother, who was going out without even breakfast.
“Annyeong, you’re early today too.”
“Ne. I’ve got a lot of stuff to do.”
“That’s too bad.”
“Unlike somebody else here, I can’t just hang around at home and help out with chores.”
“I…I do part-time work too.”
“Part-time? Where?”
“At the florist’s.”
“The florist’s? Well, that might be appropriate for you.”
“What do you mean…?”
“Nothing much. You’ve liked flowers even since a long time ago.”
“Ne…”
“Why don’t you get a job at that florist’s? It’d be more fun to work there surrounded by flowers than to stay here, right?”
Though he had said those words lightly, my brother’s attitude was cold as usual. Since I didn’t want to any more, I felt like asking about something that had been bothering me.
“Apart from that, about Hyuna-ssi.”
“Hyuna…? Why is Hyuna the topic now?”
“Well, isn’t it weird?”
“Weird? What’s weird?”
“It’s not normal to shake off your fiancée like that.”
“Fiancée?” Caught on the word fiancée, my brother raised an eyebrow and looked at me.
“Er…well, I’m not wrong about her being her fiancée, am I?”
“Did you not talk to her? Didn’t you hear anything?”
“Er…Onni didn’t say anything though…”
“Not at all? That’s just like her…”
“What do you mean?”
“My engagement with Hyuna has been called off. She’s not my fiancée or anything else to me anymore.”
“Andwae…”
“It was called off already by the second year we were in New York.”
“I didn’t know at all…”
“Well, I didn’t tell anyone here, so it’s natural that you don’t.”
“But why did you call off the engagement…?”
“That’s…”
Then, I heard the sound of the exhaust of a large car from the garden.
“Hmm…? Seems like the guy has come. Did you have date plans?”
“Ne, but…”
“I said it before, didn’t I? Break up with that guy!”
“Don’t say such selfish things!”
