"Bro...what the fuck man?" Kevin asked as Adam was slamming the drawers of his desk, and tossing papers all over the place, the floor underneath his desk was littered with paper.

"Have you been in my drawers?" Adam glared at Kevin.

"Uh...in your dreams buddy." Kevin smirked.

Adam scowled at him, "Real fucking funny...my desk drawers. It's missing, I can't find it." He muttered, he felt like he was gonna puke. He ran his hands over his face, "Shit!"

"Woah, Adam...what is it?"

Adam slammed his hand on the desk, "Nothing, never mind. Just forget it. It's fine." He wasn't sure what he was going to do. He knew one thing, he needed to change the subject, "Hey, you're coming this weekend, right?" Three weeks had passed since Hazel's actual birthday and her party weekend was finally here.

"Wouldn't miss it, it's my girl's birthday and I get to lounge around at Voight's house" he laughed, "Hey..what's she want for her birthday?"

"You don't have to get her anything. Just come celebrate." Adam replied, Hazel already had a shit ton of toys, Kim was always buying her something.

"I know that. I want to get her something, Adam. It's her birthday, I can't show up empty handed."

Adam relented, "She likes everything and anything, she's not picky. Kim's sister has her hooked on my little pony shit, and she still loves frozen. Just take it easy on the pink please....the apartment is filled with pink shit."

"Alright." Kevin smiled, "you're still looking stressed, you good?"

Adam nodded, even though he was anything but good, "I'm fine. I just lost something.."

"If you weren't such a slob..."

"I get it Kev...don't you have somewhere you need to be?" Adam tossed a stress ball at him.

"You're right, I'll see you the weekend." Kevin grabbed his things and headed out.

They had finished up for the week and one by one everyone was filing out, except for Adam. Which was unusual, he was usually the first one out the door.

"You're still here kid?" Al asked on his way out.

"I'm out in a few minutes, just finishing something." Adam capped the pen he had in his hand, "Hey O!" He jogged after him.

"What's up?" Al stopped at the top of the stairs.

"You haven't been in my desk, have you?" Adam rested his hands on his hips.

"Nope, I avoid that disaster zone like the plague." Al laughed, "take care."

Adam hung his head and returned to his desk, and began his search all over again.

Elsa's barking alerted Hazel to the fact that Adam was home, "Let's finish washing your hair, baby. Then we can go see uncle Adam."

"Elsa say woof!" Hazel splashed in the water, "party?"

"Tomorrow, after lunch." Kim massaged the shampoo into Hazel's hair, "so many people are coming to celebrate."

"Kebin? Jay?" Hazel asked, she adored them both.

"Yes, they'll be there. So will Erin, and Zoe and lots of other people." Kim tilted her head back and poured a cup of warm water over her, rinsing the shampoo from her hair.

Adam sat on the edge of the bed, he was royally fucked. He quickly stood and ransacked his dresser drawers quickly and then moved on to the gun safe and once again came up empty.
