Kim moved in closer to him, draping her leg over his hip, the morning sun catching her ring, "Adam..." She ran her fingers lightly over his stomach, "baby...it's time to wake up" she placed a trail of kisses down his bare chest.

Adam shifted beneath her, "What time is it?" He asked, his voice laden with sleep, "never mind what time it is...keeping doing that" he laughed as Kim moved from kissing his chest to kissing his neck.

Kim stopped abruptly, "Hazel!" She shot out of bed in a full on panic, "Adam it's nearly ten, I can't believe we slept in so late"

Adam sat up against the headboard, "We didn't go to sleep until late, we had an eventful night" he smirked, "it's kinda nice sleeping past sunrise, we shouldn't get used to it though. Hazel is way too much of a morning person, I blame you for that." He teased.

Erin checked her phone for the umpteenth time, "Still nothing. Do you think they're okay?"

Jay and Hazel lay curled up together on the sofa, both engrossed in a cartoon of some sort, one that Erin thought was ridiculous, "Babe, I'm sure they're fine...just caught up in 'adult activities', that's all. I'm sure they'll be here soon" he kissed the top of Hazel's head, "you don't care do you Nutter?" The poor girl would be saddled with that nick name for the rest of her life, though Jay had added his own spin on the moniker.

"Nope, I stay with you" Hazel smiled as she snuggled against him.

Erin melted at the sight of the pair, she was never one who felt maternal pangs but seeing Jay with Adam's niece had jumped started her biological clock. He was putty in the little girl's hand, as much as he complained about her sleepover it was obvious he was enjoying her company and loved having her over.

"Halstead, should I be jealous?" Erin teased.

Jay curled his lip, "Nah, she's not tall enough to reach the washing machine, so you're good" he joked, dodging the throw pillow Erin promptly tossed at his head.

"Hurry Adam!" Kim yanked him into the building, "She's gonna hate us, how could I forget her? I'm horrible." She was beside herself.

Adam pushed the elevator button, and then pulled Kim into his arms, "You didn't forget her, not really. She slipped your mind...it's quite common."

Kim tilted her head, "Come again?"

Adam shrugged, "Memory loss, it's a common occurrence for women who are in my presence...it's unfortunate but it's not your fault Kim." He laughed at her facial expression, it was a look of bemusement that slowly morphed into a huge grin, "That's better," he pointed to her smile, "it worked, you're smiling."

They both entered the elevator as the doors opened, Adam wiggled his eyebrows as he closed the gap between him and Kim, assaulting her mouth as the elevator climbed to the fifteenth floor.

He lifted her left hand to his lips kissing each knuckle and running his thumb over the engagement ring on her finger, "Last night..that was wild. Never in a million years did I see that coming...when did you grab the original ring?"

Kim turned in his arms, leaning her back against his chest, "When you got hurt, and they called me upstairs, I found it in your drawers"

He buried his nose in her hair, "Ah, it's seems I can't keep you out of my drawers, desk or.."

"Shut up Adam!" She giggled as the elevator doors slid open, and they exited and walked the few steps to Erin's apartment.

"Ah..you're here!" Erin was relieved, "I was starting to worry...Jay said I was crazy."
