Erin kept one eye trained on the on the black sports car parked across the street and one on Adam. He was obviously agitated about something, the constant scowl on his face was all she needed to know he was pissed. It had been a long time since they'd seen that look on his face, she couldn't take it anymore.

"What the hell is up your ass today?" Erin kicked her feet up on the dashboard as she waited for his response.

"Nothing." Adam snarled, "nothing at all."

"Bullshit." Erin checked the time, she pulled the radio to her mouth and reported the lack of movement, she turned her attention back to Adam, "Something has been bugging you ever since we left the district, you're a terrible liar Adam."

Adam ran his hand over his head roughly, "Did you know?"

"Know what?"

"That Kim turned down a spot in intelligence."

The blanket was spread out as Kim and Hazel finished their hot dogs, "I done. I play now?" Hazel asked as she chugged the rest of her Sprite.

"Ok. Just to the swings and the sandbox, okay?" Kim gathered up the garbage and tied it up in a bag, she then grabbed a bottle of cold water and poured it into Elsa's bowl.

The early afternoon was warm and a light breeze flitted through every so often, Elsa had run herself ragged and was happily sleeping. Kim attached the leash to the bench and went to where Hazel was playing.

"I'm building!" Hazel smiled, she had begun construction on a sand castle, "wanna help?"

Kim shook her head, "How about we practice swinging?" While Hazel loved the sand box, Kim loathed it. One case of ringworm was enough to turn Kim off it but Hazel loved it.

Hazel dropped the shovel from her hands, "Okay." She clambered out of the sandbox and took off in a sprint for the large play structure that included a few rock climbing walls, and a suspension bridge which led to a curved slide.

Kim turned back to grab Elsa before joining Hazel over by the play structure. Hazel was fearless and had already climbed to the top and was happily engaged in conversation with another little girl.

Kim welcomed the break and sat down on the bench next to an older woman who was reading a paper, "Hi" she greeted her warmly.

The woman folded the paper in half and set it on her lap, "Hi. It's a beautiful day, isn't it?"

Kim kept her eyes trained on Hazel, "yes, it is." Elsa laid at her feet.

The woman pointed to the dog, "He's beautiful."

Kim smiled, "She..actually. Her name's Elsa"

"Really?" She chuckled, "like that silly movie? Kind of a funny name for a German shepherd."

"Yea, well it's what happens when a two year old names her" Kim explained.

"Your daughter?"

Kim shook her head, "No. She's the niece of my boyfriend."

"Oh. I see." She turned her attention back to the newspaper.

"You knew didn't you?" Adam asked when they got back to the district, "When?"

Erin groaned, "Just before she quit"

"What should I do?" Kim asked, "I thought I had it all figured out and then Platt and Voight hit me with this..." She handed the paper to Erin, it was what she had dreamed about. It was why she and Adam had hid their relationship from everyone, all in the hopes of getting into intelligence. Now it was within her grasp and she wasn't sure what to do.
