"I hate you both so much. I'm gonna kill you," someone yells.
I look up and see Jacob stomping towards us. The marker was gone but his skin is bright pink from scrubbing at it. I can't help but laugh at how mad he looks. I laugh even more when some old lady glares at him and tells him him something. Jacob's face goes red and he says something back before continuing towards us.
"I'm just gonna have to murder you," he says, much more quiet than before.
"Don't be so rude Jacob or I'll have to call that little old lady back over here to tell you off again," I say with a smirk. He opens his mouth to say something but he doesn't have the chance.
"I think you need some anger management classes," Rina says in the most patronizing tone I've ever heard. He doesn't seem to know what to say to this. I watch as his fists clench and unclench before eventually he just gives up and sits down on the sand next to me.
"I dislike you," he mutters and kicks some sand.
"You should know by now not to make fun of them," David says to him.  "They get revenge for the dumbest things."
Jacob stay silent after that. He just stares at Rina and I as we finish up our giant sandcastle. It didn't really look like a sandcastle, more like a giant lump of sand, but it was still very fun to make. To finish it off, I grabbed a nearby stick and shoved it on top of our creation.
"Ta da!" Rina and I say.
"No offense but a three year old could make something better," grumbles Jacob. Apparently he's still pouting.
"Oh shut it."
I've known him long enough to know what he's going to do before he does it. He reaches leans forward and slams both hands into our pile of sand. He smirks. Without hesitation Rina and I both punch him hard on the arm.
"Ow! What was that for?" he yells as he looks at us in disbelief.
"Our poor sandcastle," says Rina in an accusing tone.
"He was too young to die," I say.
"Oh please. It was pathetic. Stop over reacting." Jacob rolls his eyes. Again Rina and I punch him. He scoots away, grumbling under his breath and glaring at us.
"You guys are evil," he tells us.
"Thank you," we say at once.
"You never learn, do you? Idiot," David says. I stare at the sand, considering remaking our castle. But then I decide that I'm too lazy. Rina must be thinking the same thing because she scoops up some sand into a small pile, groans, then lays down in the sand. I curl up and lay on my side, the sand very warm under me. I'm sure I'll regret this later when I'm trying to scrub sand off of me but I don't really care right now; this is so relaxing and comfortable. I watch as Rina slowly gets up and sits in the chair next to David. He leans over and kisses her cheek.
"Eww Rina's got cooties," I yell very childishly as I sit back up.
"Ew gross," Jacob echoes.
"Childish dorks," Rina says in response.
"No you are."
"Nuh uh." Then she sticks her tongue out at us. David rolls his eyes as the three of us start laughing. I sometimes wonder if he ever regrets being friends with us. Then I remember that we're awesome and that he should be glad to have such cool friends. Also he's as weird as us it's just that sometimes he likes to pretend that he's not and that he's mature. But he's not fooling anyone.
I find a seashell next to my foot, pick it up, and throw it. It's meant to hit Rina but since I'm so bad at throwing it instead hits David in the middle of his forehead. Almost immediately he reacts by reaching down and throwing the shell back at me. This, of course, results in an all out war. Back and forth we throw a mixture of shells and twigs at each other. We don't stop until Rina shouts at us.
"Behave you two! Look who's being childish now..."
"She started it," David says and points at me.
"No I didn't."
"Oh shut up all of you. We're all equally childish," Jacob says.
"Promise?" Rina asks. Jacob rolls his eyes. After a couple minutes of silence I get bored again. I look out at all of the people in the ocean and suddenly have an idea.
"Let's go look for sand dollars," I say. I'm looking at Jacob when I say this because I know David's not of huge fan of deep water and Rina already informed me that she was going to spend today tanning. She promised to do more stuff tomorrow, though, to pacify me. Jacob rolls his eyes again but nods.
"Yay!"
We both stand up, Jacob moving much more slowly than me, and start walking towards the water.
"I wanna have at least forty before we leave Florida," I inform him. He simply snorts and keeps walking.
"Whatever you say," I hear him mutter.

We returned to the house very content. Rina has already gotten a decent tan, David spent the day just laying in his chair, and Jacob and I were in the water most of the time. Together we had already collected ten sand dollars. I consider this a very successful day at the beach. It definitely made up for yesterday's boringness. But just like last night, we couldn't decide on dinner. We didn't feel like going to get something but we also had noting at the house to make stuff.
"Let's just order another pizza," I suggest after thirty minutes of no one suggesting anything. I'm really hungry and I can hear Rina's stomach grumbling from across the room.
"Nah I had that for lunch. What about just sandwiches?"
"We had that for lunch," Rina and I mumble. She abruptly sits up, nearly jumping out of her seat.
"Mira make us something."
"We can't have cupcakes for dinner," I reply incredulously.
"Come on you went to culinary school. You have to know how to make something."
"I make pastries. That's about it. Oh, and a delicious grilled cheese."
"Let's make breakfast food," says Rina.
"Oh that sounds really good."
"Breakfast? For dinner?" David asks, giving both of us strange looks. Jacob is looking at us funny too.
"Don't tell me you've never had breakfast for dinner?" I demand. Both boys shake their heads.
"That sounds weird," Jacob says. David nods in agreement. I can't help but glare at them.
"That's one of my favorite things for dinner and you're telling me you've never had it?" questions Rina. Again they shake their heads. Immediately Rina and I get up and walk towards the kitchen. Halfway there we stop and look back at them expectantly; neither of them have moved from their seats. Rina raises an eyebrow and gestures to the kitchen.
"Well? You don't expect us to make dinner by ourselves do you?" I ask them. They hesitate a moment before getting up and following us. They stand awkwardly in the kitchen doorway as Rina and I decide what to make.
"I'll make pancakes-," says Rina.
"And I'll make cinnamon rolls and bacon," I finish. One of the boys clear their throat. Rina and I look over at them but they don't say anything at first. It's David that is daring enough to speak first.
"What do we do?"
"You make the sausage and toast. Jacob, you can help Mira with the cinnamon rolls."
"How many people are we feeding. Geez," Jacob says. He's got a good point, we are going to make a lot of food. But it was worth it because it's so delicious. Rina and I share a look, obviously agreeing that we were still gonna make all of the food anyway. She glares at them and neither of them say anything else and get to work.

I Google a cinnamon roll recipe and show it to Jacob. He starts finding the ingredients for me but about halfway through stops. He walks back over to me and looks at my phone again.
"It's says it takes and hour and a half to make," he says, pointing to the estimated time on the website. Rina overhears us because she stops what she's doing and turns to look at us.
"Well fine then. Make them and then we can just save them for breakfast tomorrow."
"Alrighty bossy pants."
I start following the directions, always double checking that I was doing it right. Owning a bakery has taught me to always make sure you're doing the right thing. When we went to the grocery last night, Rina randomly had the idea that I could make these one day for all of us so she insisted on buying the ingredients. At the time I really didn't think I was going to be making these but right now they sounded good. I turn to grab the sugar when suddenly I bump into Jacob. Before I can utter an apology he's throwing something at me. It takes me a half a second to realize that flour is now dotting my face. I stare at him with my mouth hanging open. Then he does it again, this time a handful instead of a pinch. He does the same thing to Rina before I can open my mouth and warn her. She takes a few seconds to process as David quickly- and smartly- moves out of the way. Since the flour is closest to me I grab the bag and walk over to Jacob, who's back is still to me. I promptly pour at least half of it onto his head. He slowly turns to face me.
"What was that for?" he demands, anger rising in his voice. I shrug.
"You started it," Rina points out.
"I was just getting you back for your marker prank earlier. What you just did was uncalled for."
"To be honest, you had to see it coming," David chimes in from the corner of the room. Jacob glares over at him. He grabs the bag from me and, at first, I think he's going to pour it on me so I duck, Rina doing the same. But instead he casually strolls over to David and dumps it on him. This of course does not go over well.
"Food fight!" Rina declares. I start grabbing everything I can get my hand on and start chucking them in Jacob and David's direction. I miss the majority of the time but it was still funny to watch them duck away from my terrible aim. An egg splats both boys in the face making me giggle and look over at Rina, who had a carton of eggs in her hand. She gives me a few and now we're throwing those. The only reason we stop our fight is because the doorbell rings. We all freeze, looking at each other.
"Who is it?" Rina whispers.
"I don't know, we can't see through doors," David replies sarcastically.
"Well someone go look," I say.
"I volunteer you, Mira," says Rina.
"I second that," David agrees. I glare at them but start walking away. Jacob annoyingly follows me.
"Don't worry, the man of the house will protect you," he say with a smugness that annoyed me.
"Great let me know when he gets here."
"Oh ha ha. Now take back your harsh words."
When I don't say anything, he starts poking me. I try to ignore him but as I go to open the front door he starts poking me in the sides, where I'm very ticklish. As the door swings open I turn to scold him but I don't sound very menacing considering I'm giggling.
"Stop it you jerk."
"Make me."
The person outside coughs. Jacob pokes me again and turns his head to see who it is.
"Hi- Jay?"
"Hello," Jay replies, looking very sheepish and uncomfortable standing outside. His eyes dart from me to Jacob then down to Jacob's hands, which were in mid-poke. All I can do is stare at him with wide eyes.
