"It's raining, its pouring. The old man was snoring. Went to bed, bumped his head. Didn't get up in the morning," Rina and I sing loudly for the millionth time that morning. The boys all groan and Jacob throws a pillow at us. We just laugh and duck to avoid it then start singing again.
"Would you please shut up!" Jacob shouts over us.
"But David said he's never heard that song before," Rina says with a wide grin.
"Plus it makes the rain go away," I say brightly. All of our heads turn towards the window. It was storming and definitely wasn't going away anytime soon. "Well, it'll work eventually."
Rina and I look at each other and open our mouths to sing again but I have a realization.
"You know, this song is kinda sad. It talks about an old man dying."
"Shit you're right man. Dang, that's depressing."
"Poor old man."
We go quiet for a few seconds as we contemplate this. The boys look relieved for the silence but Rina and I just smile and start singing again. We don't get more than two words out before Jacob jumps out of his seat.
"Who wants to go bowling?"
"Oh god yes," David groans. "Anything to make them shut up."
"Love you, too," I yell after them as they rush towards the front door. I slip on my shoes and wait for Rina to quickly go change out of her pajamas. We walk outside together and see that one of the cars are already gone.
"How do you keep getting stuck babysitting us?" I ask Jacob. He rolls his eyes and starts the car.
"I don't know. They just ditch me and then I have to wait for you two slow pokes."
"But that's okay because you love spending time with us, don't you Jakey," says Rina.
"First of all, don't call me Jakey. Second, no I don't love you." He is obviously trying to contain his anger. Of course this only makes me want to make him more angry and see how far we can push him before he explodes. It's funny when he gets mad.
"Oh you know you love us Jakey."
"Just admit it or else we'll start singing again," Rina threatens. Jacob grumbles and glares at us.
"Fine. Whatever. I love you."
"Was that hard?"
"Yes, it was. Now get out of my car."
"Okay pushy. That was fast," I say as I climb out and look around. We walk inside and I'm happy to see that it's glow in the dark bowling. We find Jay and David at the lane furthest away from the door. We walk over to them and they hand us our shoes. Some crappy 80's music is playing a bit too loudly but Rina and I wiggle in our seats to the rhythm of the song. David shakes his head in shame and looks around at the nearly empty place.
"Are you two high or something? Cause you're acting stranger than usual," he whispers to us, not wanting anyone around to hear. He seems to be expecting us to say yes because he looks really surprised when we shake our heads no.
"Just high on life," Rina giggles. He looks perplexed and I can't help but join in on Rina's laughter.
"You look silly David. But nah we're just bored. Is it my turn yet?" I crane my neck to try to see past David. Jay walks over after just finishing his turn.
"No, but it's Rina's turn," he replies. Rina squeals obnoxiously and claps her hands.
"I want the sparkly ball," she says as she walks towards the array of bowling balls. David frowns after her. Clearly he hasn't met this side of Rina which is rather shocking considering they've known each other for about five years. Jay notices David's look and laughs.
"This is how they used to always act when they're bored. Be glad you got the watered down version of them," he says.
This only makes David look more confused and worried. I turn towards Jacob, who was sitting to the right of me, and start demanding chocolate. When he keeps saying no I start to poke him.
"They used to be like this all the time?" David asks incredulously as Rina screams in victory; she knocked over most of her pins.
"Unfortunately," Jacob tells him. Then he glares at me and shoves some money into my hand. "Why don't you go buy us some food."
I fling the money back at him and stand up, saying, "No it's my turn now. Rina go find us some chocolate."
As I walk away I hear David mutter, "Damn."

We get back to the house and they make us go straight to our rooms. We've annoyed them so much that they're forcing us to be in their until dinner time. I was done acting like a wackadoo but they didn't listen to my protests. Honestly the only reason I was being like that was because it was funny to watch their faces whenever we did something ridiculously frustrating. But they didn't want to hear our excuses so they make sure we're both safely in our rooms before going back downstairs. I wait until I'm sure they're gone until I poke my head out into the hallway and look around. Rina was already doing the same.
"Psst. Wanna come over to my room? We can have a playdate," I whisper to her.
"I don't know if my husband will let me," she whispers back.
"Just sneak out."
"I hear talking!" Jacob tells up the stairs. Immediately Rina and I go back into our rooms and shut the door. I wait a few minutes until he walks away before opening the door again. Rina was already standing outside with a devious smirk. She shoves past me into the room.
"He's such a mom," she whispers. I nod and shut the door carefully behind her.
"Do you get hungry at night or something?" she questions. At first I don't understand what she means until my eyes land on two cupcakes sitting on the bedside table. They were as large as muffins and topped with colorful icing. A small piece of paper sat beside them.
"I have no idea where those came from. Unless I night bake or something without realizing it. They look yummy, though," I reply. I pick up one of the cupcakes and examine the pretty icing then grab the card and squint at the handwriting. Not only is it written very small but it's also dark in the room because I haven't turned on the light yet and the storm outside cast a dreary grayness in the room.
"I really need some glasses," I say as I reach for the light switch. I flick the lights on but Rina yells something incoherent. Feathers and glitter rain down from the ceiling. My bedroom floor soon become completely covered in colorful junk. I look up at Rina in shock. She winces as she looks around the room then at the cupcake in my hand.
"So, what's the note say?" She tries to sound casual but I can hear the guilt in their tone. I look down at the small note and read out loud.
"For Mira. Once again I want to say how much of a dumbass I am. I'm sorry. Enjoy the cupcake. Love, Jay. Ps I figured Rina would throw a fit if I didn't make her one so share."
"Oh well that's lovely of him. I wonder when he found the time to make them? They, er, look great. Once you get past the glitter.." she trails off. I look at the cupcake in my hand and see that it's been ruined by Rina's prank. Purple sparkles and a few feathers are now mixed in with the blue icing. I could easily scrape that layer of icing off and eat it but it wouldn't leave much icing and icing is my favorite part. I pout and see that Rina's cupcake looks the same.
"You ruined my cupcakes."
Without thinking I throw the cupcake in her direction. It hits her right in the face and she stand there for a few stunned moments before coming to her senses. She grabs the other cupcake and throws it. I was expecting this, though, and duck just in time.
"I came up to tell you dinner's ready but glad to see that you're enjoying my cupcakes," someone says behind me. I spin around. Jay is only a few inches from me and his face is covered in cake. Rina and I start laughing loudly.
"My hard work paid off, then." He sounds kinda mad so I try to stop laughing. My smile fades and turns into a pout as I point at Rina.
"Jay she ruined my cupcake. Punch her in the face," I whine. Jay wipes the icing away from his eyes and shakes his head.
"That's a bit extreme. Why don't we just settle with getting her back," he says.
"Alrighty. Darn it that looked really good, too."
"Just lick it off of his face," Rina suggests behind me. I actually consider doing this; that's how strong my love for cake is. Instead I just settle with wiping some of it off of his cheek, inspecting it for glitter, then putting in in my mouth.
"Kinky," Rina says as she shoves past me out the door.
"Nasty perv," I reply and follow her.
"You're both gross," says Jay.
"Thank you," we reply together. As I walk downstairs, Rina tries to get as much of the glitter out of my hair as possible. I refuse to help her with her hair. The three of us walk into the dining room and Jacob and David both freeze when they see us.
"What the hell did I miss?" Jacob asks when he's done looking at out appearances.
"We had an awesome party without you. So what's for dinner."
"I send you to your rooms to calm down and you come back covered in cake, glitter, and-what is that- feathers? You're ridiculous."
"We know."

A/N: announcement
Hello everyone! So I just wanted to warn you that I will be taking a small hiatus. Between the exams I have coming up along with all of the holiday festivities I have planned, I don't think I'll have time to write any new chapters. I've decided that instead of giving y'all crappy chapters that I wrote in two minutes, it's best I just take some time off. So, I'll be on hiatus for two weeks but I'll be back on January 2nd. Thanks for reading! Bye
