A/N: hey everyone! I just wanted to say thanks for reading this far of my horrible story. The story is almost over, though. I plan to only make about seven more chapters. But I'm going to take a short hiatus because I have spring break, Easter, and prom coming up so I'm gonna be kinda busy. Next chapter will be updated on May 1. Bye! -A
MIRA'S POV
I look at my group of friends then look around my new house. Somehow I managed to gather a total of eight people to help Jay and I paint. Rina, David, Jacob, Eliza, Della, Cameron, and two of Cameron's friends all pulled themselves out of bed this morning to help us. At least, they claimed they all were here because they wanted to help. I knew most of them really came because I promised free donuts for breakfast, pizza for lunch, and the opportunity to defy adults.
"Alrighty. Everything is ready to go. Let us begin," I announce. Since I had already told everyone what they were in charge of doing, they all grab their can of paint and separate into different rooms. The plan was that by the end of the day I would have almost every room in this house painted and some furniture assembled and put in its place. I only planned on leaving a total of four rooms white so Mom could paint them whatever boring colors she wanted. Hopefully she would be satisfied with that. Probably not but I like to be optimistic.
I grab my can of paint and a paint roller and head for the bathroom. Jay follows me in with his eyebrow raised.
"You're really painting the bathroom purple?" he questions.
"It's a light purple. And just be glad it's the bathroom. I could've taken you up on that offer to paint every single room purple."
He sighs and says, "True. Alright well we're off to get our new furniture."
"I still don't understand why it takes six dudes to go get furniture," I mutter. I didn't really care but it was a little ridiculous. Jay sighs. He's explained this to me several times but I refused to drop it.
"Because there's a lot of furniture and we all have small cars so we'll need the cars to fit everything," he replies.
"Okie dokie, whatever. I'll be here painting."
"Have fun with that."
He starts to leave but I quickly yell his name. He pops his head back in.
"Yes?"
"Will you pretty please open this can for me?" I ask him. He rolls his eyes and steps fully into the room. Within seconds he has the lid off.
"Was that really too hard for you? Did you even try?" he asks.
"No I just didn't feel like it. Thanks babe!"
He rolls his eyes again then leaves. I hear a giggle from the hallway.
"Did you just call him babe? Gross!" Rina yells from another room. Then Della walks in the room with a smirk before I can say something mean to Rina. Without saying a word, she sits down and just stares at me with wide eyes and a blank face. I arch my eyebrow, prompting her to say something, but shejust she says silent.
"Can I help you?" I ask her. She looks around the room as if checking to see if someone else were in here. Then she leans forwards and whispers to me, "Cameron's friends are cute. Don't tell anyone I said that."
She abruptly stands up and starts walking towards the door. Just as abruptly as she got up, though, she turns back around and leans down to whisper again.
"Eliza accidentally told me about the prank you have planned. It's brilliant and I want in."
"You're so creepy. Go paint or clean or something. Stop whispering creepily in my ear," I say and shove her away from me. She smirks again and leaves the room. I sit there and wait until I hear the door click shut downstairs. A few seconds pass before a hear a bunch of footsteps running towards me. Three heads appear in the doorway and smile down at me.
"They're gone. Ready?" Rina asks. I nod once and stand up. I open up the closet door and start pulling a bunch of plastic sheets and tarp out.
"Jay said it should take them over two hours to get there, find everything, put in the car, and drive back. So I think it's best that I sent Eliza and Della to the store to buy the washable paint while Rina and I set up the plastic. After that, we all need to come back up here and paint quickly so it looks like we actually did something. Understand?"
The three of them nod in reply. I dig my keys out of my pocket and toss them to Eliza. Without another word, her and my sister run down the hallway. Rina and I follow them down the stairs with the plastic sheets trailing after us. We start taping the plastic to the walls- and the front door- so that it covered every inch of the room.

Pizza is here. Just leave the furniture in the cars and come eat. -Mira
Ok almost home. -Jay
"They're back!" someone yells from down the hall. I drop the paintbrush I had been using and run out of the room. Rina was already by the door waiting for me. She tosses me two bottles- one blue and one red- of Crayola's washable paint. I look around at the other girls. Eliza was equipped with a bag of glitter and Rina and Della also had bottles of paint. Della peeks out the window and nods her head.
"Here they come," she whispers. We wait as the door slowly open and they step inside. Jacob is the first one to enter and he looks around in confusion. Jay is right behind him and shares the same look.
"What the hell-" Jacob mutters as he stares at the plastic. Jay is the first to notice us standing there.
"Fuck," he curses. Jay barely manages to drop to the ground before Rina and I yell, "Attack."
Instantly glitter mixes with paint as we cover the six squirming boys. One of Cameron's friends tries to escape but Della just blocks his path and covers him in green paint.
Rina and I are laughing so hard at their stunned expressions that we have to pause to catch our breath. That pause was a mistake, though. The instant we let our defenses down, they're on us. David grabs Rina and pulls her into a hug and Jacob and Jay grab ahold of me. Then a second later Jacob let's go and instead pulls Della into a hug. She groans and shoves away but she can't seem to escape his grasp. Eliza squeaks as Cameron grabs her.
The guys rub as much paint and glitter onto us before releasing us.
"You were supposed to be painting the walls, not us," mutters Jay. I shrug and wrap my arms around his waist.
"That was too boring," I tell him. "Painting people is fun."
"You're right it is. I don't think you were painted enough," Jay says.
"I can fix that. Group hug!" Jacob shouts. Suddenly I'm being suffocated as the boys squish us all into a hug.
We pull apart when there a bright flash of light. I look over and see one of Cameron's friends looking sheepishly at us. He shrugs and gestures to the phone in his hand.
"Sorry, didn't know the flash was on. I'm a photographer and couldn't resist," he says.
"Send that to me," I tell him.
"I will. So.... pizza?" he questions, glancing around. I roll my eyes and gesture to the kitchen.
"It's in there. Careful, though, the dogs-"
My warning wasn't quick enough. He opens the baby gate that had been restraining the dogs before I can stop him. The two puppies excitedly run out and immediately do the thing I was trying to prevent them from doing. They start rolling around and sniffing the paint. My cute little fluffy white dog soon becomes a multicolored blob. I sigh and pick him up. He licks some of the paint off of my cheek and I'm glad I bought non toxic paint.
"Silly dog. You're not supposed to consume it," I tell him. He replies by licking my face again. I set him back onto the ground and follow the others into the kitchen. Luckily, I was small enough to put some plastic tarp in here, too. That way the paint and glitter wouldn't get everywhere.
"David go wipe you face off. Your mouth is blue," Rina tells her husband as he picks up a slice of pizza. He raises an eyebrow and takes a step towards her.
"And your mouth is red. Wanna make purple?"
"No PDA in my kitchen!" I shout. "Now all of you clean your hands and faces before you eat."
"Yes Mother," Rina sighs.
"So demanding. If I want green hands then let me have green hands," mutters Jacob sadly as he stares at his painted hands.
"Fine. Keep your green hands. But you can't eat any of my pizza."
He instantly walks over to the sink and starts scrubbing his hands.
