Sorry for the late(ish) update (again). My annoying teachers decided that the last week of school would be a prefect time to assign a bunch of projects. I tried to make up for it by making this chapter long. Only three more chapter left after this!

Jay's POV
"I've got a bad feeling about this," Jacob mutters next to me. "You sure they're here?"
I nod my head and look up at the house. Almost every light was on when we pulled in the the driveway. By time we had gotten out of the car, every light went off except for the one in the living room. I could already tell that there was absolutely no way in hell that this was going to end well for us.
"I'm sure. When I called Mira twenty minutes ago, she said they were just about to watch a movie. Liz and Rina were in the background arguing over what movie to watch," I reply.
"Do we have to go in?" David asks. I'm about to say no but just then all three of our phones go off. "Another stupid text. Yes, we're going in. I don't care what they have planned in there. I want them to make these damn text messages stop," Jacob says with a frown. David and I let Jacob take the lead. We follow behind and he walks to the front door and attempts to turn the doorknob. He cusses under his breath and searches his pockets for something.
"Did you know, a group of cats is called a clowder?" David whispers. Jacob stops his rummaging and we both look at David.
"Does it matter?" Jacob asks. David shrugs and locks his phone.
"Just thought you'd want to know," he mutters. "Why haven't you opened the door yet?"
"I can't find the key Mira gave me. Jay, where's your key?"
"I didn't bring it. Mira said she was going to be home all night. I figured I didn't need it."
"Great," Jacob grumbles.
"Relax. There's a spare key. I'll get it."
I walk over to the potted plan and lift it up. I grab the key and start to unlock the door.
"Under the plant? Really? Could you be any more obvious?" scoffs Jacob.
"Mira wanted it somewhere she'd remember," I reply. We step inside the dark house. There was enough lighting coming from a lamp in the living room that I could tell that there was things covering the hallway. Before I can warn Jacob and David that it's a trap, the front door slammed shut behind us. We hear a giggle and then a noise as something slides into place.

----
Few hours earlier- Rina's POV
Eliza, Mira, and I stare the the white door, as if waiting for it to start magically tap dancing. Mira tilts her head to the side and starts humming a random tune.
"How are we supposed to lock them in if the locks are on the inside of the house?" I question.
"Also, you push the door in. Not out. So it's not like we can just push something in front of it," Mira points out.
"Hmmm," says Eliza as she considers it. "I think I can come up with something. Just give me a half an hour."
"You sure you can finish in time? You've got, like, a million other things you said you wanted to do," says Mira. Eliza nods. Strands of pink hair cover her face but she doesn't seem to notice.
"Ya, I should have time. I've got Hannah and Liz working on some thing for me. We should have time."
"Okay, if you say so. Just don't forget we need one for the back door and front door," I say. She nods again. She has such a concentrated expression that I almost wanted to laugh.
"It won't be too complicated. I'll just make two little slots on either side of the door. Then, I'll just cut a long board of wood into the size of the door. You can just take the board and slide it through the slots. So when they open the door, the wood will be blocking them from exiting. You might also want to find something heavy to push in front of it just in case they try to shove it down. I don't know how sturdy the wood will be. As for the backdoor, I'll just flip it so that the key is on the outside."
"Awesome. We'll go look for something heavy."

Back to Jay's POV (current time)
Jacob opens the door only to reveal a board of wood blocking the way. Taped to the board was a piece of paper. It read:
Bow down to the prank queens, losers!
