A/N: more fluff with some conversations. Hope you enjoy!
Edit: trigger warning mention of rape
I stand outside Briennes room uncertainly. All the warmth from Jaime had disappeared. I pull my furs tighter around my body feeling cold inside and out. She probably hates me. I married the worst human being in her opinion. A man who'd left her at the hands of some bad people.
I take a deep breath and open the door. There's a fire going on the side and I can see her form under the blankets. I close the door quietly behind me. "Hi," I whisper before I realized it had left my mouth.
"Hello," I hear her small voice once so proud and fierce. It breaks my heart. I make myself walk over and see she still looks a mess. The Maester had bandaged what I can see but it doesn't hide the bruising.
"You must hate me," I blurt out.
"No," she says. "I knew you were in love even if you didn't quite know t yourself. I don't blame you."
"But you should. You should hate me. I- "
"I don't hate you," she repeats. I bow my head accepting her answer but still feeling the guilt dwell in my throat and lower stomach. "I didn't ask for you to come here for you to hate yourself. I came here to ask if I could serve you."
"I'll grant you anything you wish." I say immediately. "I'll do anything to make you happy and make up for my mistakes."
"We all made mistakes get over it. I've had to. I wished to get my revenge on Stannis but that was taken away from me. Now allow me to help you reclaim the North for it is truly yours in revenge of what those men did to me."
"As soon as you are healed."
"Thank you My Lady," she says.
"I'll let you sleep now," I say standing ready to leave. I'm almost at the door when it hits me what she'd said. "Brienne?" I whisper. "Brienne?" I say a little louder but she's already asleep."How is she?" I ask sitting across from the Maester.
"She'll live," he says. "They treated her very poorly."
"Thanks for that," I mutter. "Did they rape her?" He hesitates then nods. I let a breath out not looking at him. I'd known it I didn't need to ask but a part of me needed to have confirmation. "How long was Ramsay here for?"
He doesn't seem to want to answer me fiddling with the chain around his neck. "Long enough," he finally says. "Since Theon was taken over by the Boltons. They'd been granted Winterfell and all that it entails."
I sit pondering it all over. "What do you think we should do about the wildlings and white walkers?"
"I do not know my lady. The wildlings I suppose let them be. The white walkers? You said it yourself they do not exist."
I chew my lip a little thinking. "Where is Nan?" I think of the old woman who was constantly telling Bran stories.
"She's dead."
I close my eyes for a moment. "Thank you Maester," I stand and turn towards the door.I walk into my room sifting through my memories trying to think if I knew anything about the white walkers. I knew they were supposed to be people risen from the dead but how was that possible? I smile a little thinking how could me seeing the future be possible.
I close the door and then turn back towards the room. I blush laughing a little seeing Jaime on his side one leg bent posing for me.
"Don't laugh," he says struggling to cover himself with the blankets.
"I'm sorry," I say making my way to him. "Brienne doesn't blame you," I pull the covers up and sit next to him leaning on him. He moves sitting up depositing my head in his lap.
"How is she?"
"I've never seen someone so defeated," I say and he starts running his fingers through my hair. I lift my head and he pulls the hair from under my body and begins to unweave it from the braid I'd hastily thrown it in.
"What is worrying you my Lady," he asks.
I close my eyes liking the feel of him playing with my hair. "What do you know of White Walkers?"
He pauses for a moment. I move my head prompting him to continue. "Only stories," he says. "You can't think they're real?"
"Why would he lie?" I ask and wince as he finds a knot.
"Why don't you try and see them?" He asks.
"I wouldn't know it if I saw one."
"Well," he says sitting up more looking down at me. "I imagine they're clothes are falling off," he tugs gently at my dress this time slipping it down one of my shoulders a little. "This could be perceived as showing off," he kisses the skin he's bared. "Except their skin is falling off. Their bones visible beneath it all. Their eyes falling out," he kisses those next. "Their noses and mouths useless," he kisses those in order making me blush more. "I'd imagine they make great fighters though. You know the whole dead thing probably makes it hard for them to be defeated."
I frown at those words. "I'm sure there's a perfectly reasonable explanation for what the lord commanders have reported."
I sit up, "that white walkers exist," he pulls on the laces of my dress and I grab his arm. "Jaime I am serious. We're all fucked if they are. It won't matter who you are."
"How would they get over the wall?"
"How did most wildlings get over the wall?"
"Relax," he says going back to my laces.
"Jaime," I groan standing up. I move to the other side of the room turning to face him. He's sitting on the edge of the bed his feet on the floor a devilish grin on his face. My dress falls a little further down and I cross my arms holding it up. He smirks at me. "Cmon," I whine. "This could be important," I shriek a little as he stands and starts towards me. I dodge him running to the side. He turns and follows. I make my way to the side of the bed and he stands on the other. "Jaime!" I say but laugh when he tries to go around and I jump on the bed running across it. He follows wrapping me in his arms before I can get away. I struggle a little but then he's tickling me. I collapse to the floor and he continues to move his fingers making me writhe under him. I laugh moving around trying to protect my sides. He finally stops resting his head on my breast looking up at me smiling.
He moves capturing my lips in his. Before I can respond he's looking down at me. "We should have a baby."
A/N: it was brought to my attention that the mentions of rape were not handled well as in I needed to have that included. Do not worry it will be addressed in the next chapter.
