"Os, it's almost eight, we gotta get going."
I crack an eye open and yawn, looking at the door to find Trent leaning against the frame, "Come on, dude," he nods at me before a frown enters his face, "Hey, where's A-"
"Don't even," I grit out, rubbing my eyes as he holds his hands up in surrender.
"Okay, okay, thin ice. Get up, we're heading out," he says before ducking out the room.
He returns a few seconds later, fumbling around in his large hoodie pocket before revealing a box, "Oh yeah, I got this the other day. I added everything you told me to as well."
Tapping the box, he gives me a curt nod and sets it down near the door, murmuring a 'good luck' before leaving and closing the door behind him.
I groan into the emptiness of the room, arm falling back against the nothingness beside me. Gathering the strength to sit up, I squint at the light filtering in through the curtains and look at myself in the vanity mirror near the foot of the bed. My restless turning throughout the night is definitely noticeable in the dark circles under my eyes, and the lack of... frankly, life in my eyes adds to my zombie like state.
The glare from the sun disrupts my vision as I haul my ass out of bed and stretch, tired. My eyes relocate their blurry gaze to the door as I rub my eyes again and walk towards it, bending to pick up the rectangular box with a red, shiny, gift topper sitting in the centre.
I set it down on the bed and sigh, making my way to the bathroom to brush my teeth, take a shower, and get dressed.
After I sort myself out and run a hand through my hair, I head out the room, hesitating before I walk back in and retrieve the box. Soren meets me outside in the hallway, and we walk downstairs together.
"Olli's waiting there now, meet you in the car," he nods before walking quicker and grabbing Emme's car keys from her, dropping a kiss on her cheek.
She smiles as I walk into the living room, box in hand. I peek over the sofa to see a sleeping Avyn in the fetal position.
I wet my bottom lip and sigh. Setting the box down in a gap between her knee and head, I kiss her on her temple before reluctantly leaving the room, "See you soon," I whisper as she curls up into a tighter ball.
"Take care of her," I nod at Emme as I pass her in the corridor, reaching for the front door.
She smiles earnestly, "Wouldn't dream of doing anything else."

"Great," Olli gives Trent a deadpan look as we walk out towards his car and get inside.
Trent laughs to himself, "Come on, that was funny," he grins like the goofy idiot he is - seriously, why am I friends with this loaf of bread?
"Yeah," Olli narrows his eyes as he pulls out the parking lot and heads back onto the road, "Pouring water over someone's jeans to make it look like they wet themselves is fucking hilarious."
Red sighs heavily beside Trent, backhanding his (I assume) boyfriend's chest, "Can you not be a knob for one day? This F.U.S.E business is serious-"
"Wait, fuck. Where's the girl?" Olli cuts in, suddenly anxious.
"Home," I shrug, still on the fence about our argument yesterday.
He gapes at me, colour draining from his face, "W-WHAT?! I told you to bring her with you!"
