“Dad always thought laughter was the best medicine, which I guess is why several of us died of tuberculosis.” Jack Handey, "Deep Thoughts," Saturday Night Live

A merry heart doeth good like a medicine. Proverbs 17:22

Mirth: “amusement, especially as expressed in laughter” New Oxford American Dictionary

Sometimes it's vital to just laugh. While serious thought and selfless actions are always important, you can lose motivation without a little mirth. Some of the most stressful times in my life were times when I laughed the most. Our mind naturally looks for coping mechanisms, or ways to ease stress, and one of the best ways to do that is to laugh. Sometimes it may even seem a little inappropriate, but that's ok. While laughter may not always cure disease, it will almost always relieve tensions, and that's healthy for your body and mind. So let's approach life with a little humor. We know we're gonna mess up so why not laugh at our shortcomings, maybe then we won't take ourselves too seriously. After all, if we didn't take ourselves so seriously we probably wouldn't get so disappointed in ourselves.  And if you're finding it hard to laugh right now, remember, laughter is pretty contagious.  So if you can, find a video on youtube of someone laughing and watch it.  You'll be laughing sooner than you think.  Here's a link that may help.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RP4abiHdQpc&feature=related
