I'll bring you more than a song
For a song in itself
is not what You have required
You search much deeper withing
Through the way things appear
You're looking into my heart
I'm coming back to the heart of worship
And it's all about You
All about You, Jesus
I'm sorry Lord for the thing I've made it
When it's all about You
It's all about You Jesus
Matt Redman (from the song Heart of Worship)
Sing to Him, Sing praise to Him; tell of His wonderful acts. 1 Chronicles 16:9
Venerate: “regard with great respect; revere” New Oxford American Dictionary
“Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed: ‘God, I thank you that I am not like other people—robbers, evildoers, adulterers—or even like this tax collector. I fast twice a week and give a tenth of all I get.’ “But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, ‘God, have mercy on me, a sinner.’ “I tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified before God. For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.” Luke 18:10-14 Praising God is the most gratifying and satisfying thing anyone can do, but it is not about us, it's about God, He is what makes it great, not us. Let's praise God with all our hearts, bodies, and minds, but always remember the reason we praise. Let's always remember how God created the heavens and earth, how He freed the Israelites from Egypt, how He bestowed wisdom on Solomon, how He sent His Son to die for us so that He could say. “In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.” John 14:2-3 The best thing is this, it's not because we deserve it, but because He loves us. Now that's worth our praise. In comparison there is nothing we could ever do to deserve veneration.
