Lincoln once remarked that, “[He] would be the greatest fool on this footstool called earth, if [he] ever thought that for one moment [he] could perform the duties of [his] office without help from one that is stronger than all.” Many believe Lincoln to be the greatest president in United States history, yet there are so many who believe faith in an unseen God to be reckless if not down right foolish. In times of difficulty, let's all try to remember Lincoln. While leading this country through some of the most difficult times it has ever known, he was not afraid to rely on the Almighty. It gave him the courage to carry on with tasks never asked of anyone before him or since. In that light, why should we hesitate to trust in God in whatever we do? I don't think there are many who would call Lincoln a foolish man, so let's not take it seriously when anyone tries to label us as foolish for following his example. We can all be great, God promises that.
