Chapter nineteen: YOUR MAKING ME LOOK POOR!

I called up my father, he said he's fine and the accident didn't really do much to him. Just wounded head and a broken leg.. But it will heal soon.

" Dad, when are you gonna send us money? Mom lost her job and Vanessa is working in a diner. " I say softly to my dad, i hear him sigh.

" No money for now, sweetheart. I need to go. Tell your mom and Vanessa that i love them, i also love you too. " My dad says. I smile a little.

" I love you too daddy. " I say and we exchange our goodbyes and hang up.

Dad barely talks to us, he is always working and having overtime. He works in Italy, where he was born and where he really lives. My mother told him that working there would be difficult because he is far away from us and he would barely talk to us.

Dad forced mom and she gave up and approved. Dad left a week after and barely talked to us.

" Hey Laura. " I hear Ross shout from outside the window.. I open up the door and walk over to him.

" Hey. What's up? "

" Wanna hang? "

" Yeah sure. " I say and grab my bag and walk outside with him.. We go to the mall and he started flashing expensive stuff to me.

" You know what? This $12880 jacket, my dad can definetly buy this in a second! " He says boasting about his father's insurance.. I don't have that kind of stuff..

Recently, mom has lost her job as an assistant manager.. She's looking for a new one. And dad, he barely sends us money. Once he does, it's just $800 or $900, it's not even enough.

Ross started flashing more expensive things in my face, " OOHH!! This expensive shoes! My mom can buy me this is just a second! Want some, Laura? "

" No, thanks. " I quickly say in response.. He nods and starts showing me way more expensive things.

" THIS $10000 sneaker! My dad can buy this in just a blink of an eye! I bet your dad can't! " That's the most painful thing he has ever said to me.

I bet your dad can't.

Just because my father doesn't send us money a lot, doesn't mean he can't afford me something.

" This $89990 watch! My dad could just pull out his wallet and b- " I immediately cut him off.

" I know your proud with your parent's money and stuff, but can you stop flashing it in my face!? " I shout at him.. He looks startled and puts the watch back.

" I'm sorry, Laura. " He says, i groan in frustration, " Gah! Forget it. " I say and walk away from him.

He follows me from behind and apparently catches me.

" What's wrong? " He asks me as he's seen my tears. I wipe them away.

" You just said the most painful thing anyone can say to me. " I say softly to him and let more tears fall..

" That may be? "

" I bet your dad can't. "

His eyes widen and immediately starts apologizing to me.

" YOUR MAKING ME LOOK POOR! " I shout at him and cry.. He looks at me with sad eyes.

" I didn't mean to upset you. " He says quietly.. I scoff at him and walk away... Walk back home.
