Chapter 15- Call Me Dad

"Eno, En, Enoch, How do you say this?" Emerson muttered, squinting her eyes as she stared at the jumbled letters she was trying to read.

Alec had left, she hadn't asked where he was going, and she had just marched straight to the library. She had ignored Clary's attempts to talk with her, had avoided Izzy and Simon who seemed hell bent on interrogating her. She had even managed to avoid Jace just before he also left. She had passed Magnus, who had looked like he was ready to kill Jocelyn and who she guessed to be Luke, her supposed step-father.

Now she was hidden away in a far corner of the huge library. A small lamp illuminated the small round table she was sat at, books piled all around her, hiding her from anyone's sight. She had dropped off her things in Alec's room, not having any idea of where she would actually be staying or if she would be staying at all.

She wasn't sure that if she planned on staying active in this world. All she wanted was to find out all she could about this mark and this Anahera person. Before she had began thinking about just letting it all go and asking Magnus to help her go back to her normal life. After Alec got his mark and she suddenly felt connected to him and after meeting the Satran person, she wanted to know more than ever what he had meant by her being an old soul.

Enochian is a name often applied to an occult or angelic language recorded in the private journals of John Dee and his colleague Edward Kelley in late 16th-century England. Kelley was a spirit medium who worked with Dee in his magical investigations. The men claimed that the language was revealed to them by the Enochian angels. The language is integral to the practice of Enochian magic.

Emerson read the beginning of the transcript she had found. She had found many ancient books talking about angels, how Shadowhunters were created and sorts of runes and why and how they came to be. She had found this particular book last minute and had almost passed by it. The title of the book was, 'First Angels' and not having anything to lose she had added it to the large pile.

Now she was almost finished with the piles of books and had began reading this one. The first paragraph seemed to be exactly what she was looking for. She looked from this book to her open journal and scanned the odd markings before looking at the journal Alec had found. She looked back to the book and flipped through some pages.

The first angels are simply known as Enochian Angels and are said to be a group nine angels who were created for the soul intentions of protecting God's children, mankind. Not much is known of the Enochian Angels, them having been said to have been killed in the war in Heaven.

All that is known of them is their names and symbols that connected them to the Enochian Guardians. The following names are the supposed Enochian angels and their titles (note that the titles were given before the Archangels were said to have been created. No religion believes this, however.) All of the Enochian angels were believed to have been created at once, only a second separating the Angel of Death's creation with the creation of God.

Kenelm is known as the Angel of Death.

Rhamiel is known as the Angel of Light.

Mardane is known as the Angel of Destiny

Reseda is known as the Angel of Healing

Deuel in known as the Angel of Knowledge

Aaeesha is known as the Angel of Life

Eryk is known as the Angel of Power

Jehoaddan is known as the Angel of Time

Bionbyr is known as the Angel of War
