"Where were you?" Alec questioned, lifting his eyebrow to further prove that the half asleep girl had his full attention.
When he and Jace had arrived from their pointless mission they had both encountered a worried Clary and Izzy. Clary had informed them that Emerson and Luke were gone, Magnus left and Jocelyn were looked away in her room refusing to come out until Luke and Emerson got home.
Alec had found it all childish but had ignored them as he walked to his room and slammed the door shut. Worry had filled him as he heard that Emerson was gone and despite her being with Luke, he couldn't fight the worry. He pulled his jacket off and tossed it onto his desk chair and sat on his bed and waited.
He had waited for almost an hour before she had appeared, running into his room and slamming the door behind her. He had stood and crossed his arms, not sure why he was acting as if he had been waited on her for so long. He had debated on speaking to her but after looking how content she actually looked he had remained silent.
She had kicked off her shoes and walked past him before face planting onto the right side of the bed. He wondered why she was acting as if it was her room and why she was ignoring him. He had stood there for a few more seconds before sitting on the edge of his bed and watched her.
Her hair had fanned out and covered her face, her body was relaxed and if he focused just long enough he could hear her muttering softly. He watched her as she rolled over onto her side and tucked her hands underneath her head and pulled her knees upwards.
Her eyes were closed and her lips slightly parted, she was silent now. His eyes trailed over the faint freckles, counting each one before he tore his eyes from her and looked at his arm. The mark still looked as if he had just been branded with, the skin being pink all around the mark like a pink and white scar.
It wasn't at all as beautiful as her mark appeared to be. He ran his fingers over it, wincing as it stung slightly. He repositioned himself, with his back resting against his headboard and his ankles crossed. His arms rested loosely in his lap and he found himself staring at her once again.
"Where were you?" Alec questioned, his eyebrow raised as he fought the smile that threatened to form as her eyes slowly opened and she muttered in an annoyed tone.
"I went to eat with Luke, who I now am supposed to call dad. I told him everything and he gave his word to not tell anyone else and help. I found a book in the library that could help us translate the journals or at least understand them." She spoke in a tired tone.
After eating till her hearts content and walking all the way back to the institute she was tired. She had given Luke the three books and he had headed towards the library, promising to talk to her and Alec in the morning. On her way to Alec's room Clary and the evil three, Jace, Izzy and Simon had chased after her, demanding that she would answer them one way or the other.
She had ran as fast as she could and thankfully managed, somehow, to lose them before she ran to Alec's room and slammed and locked the door behind her. She seen Alec standing in front of the bed, staring seriously at her and she attempted to ignore him.
She had kicked her shoes off and face planted onto his bed. A soft smile had formed on her lips as the scent filled her nose. It was something between aftershave, mint and a scent that was just, Alec. She rolled over and had planned on going to sleep but his question made her groan.
"I thought we agreed to not tell anyone." Alec spoke as he gave her a stern look. She propped her head up and stared at him for a few seconds.
"Rhamiel was said to have been the Enochian Angel of Light and Ambriel was an Enochian Guardian. The book I found listed nine Enochian Angels and nine Enochian Guardians, it didn't say which guardian shared a mark with which angel but I' pretty sure Ambriel was Rhamiel's guardian." Emerson said, ignoring his stern tone as she watched his eyes furrow as he processed her words.
