Emerson sat in the familiar room, darkness seeping all around her. The candle that sat in the center of the table was gone and she couldn't even see her hands in front of her face. She was tired, her eyes drooping closed. Her body felt heavy, her lungs burned and the side of her neck and shoulder seemed to be on fire.
She felt as if she had been beaten and ran over and she couldn't recall why she was feeling this way. Her arms rested on the table top and she could feel her head drifting forwards however every time she shifted slightly it felt as if her body was burning, keeping her upright and unmoving.
"Just close your eyes," Rhamiel's voice whispered throughout the room. Emerson's eyes slipped closed as her body slumped further into the chair.

Stars shone brightly in the velvety sky, each star shone as bright as a sun, illuminating the sky in a silvery glow. The moon was full and shone just as bright as the blanket of stars twinkling among one another. The breeze was warm and crisp, the scent of honey suckle drifted along the air.
Waist high vibrant green grass swayed and danced in the breeze. The ground was cool and soft, the grass acting as a cool earthen bed. A body lay on the grass, eyes slowly blinking and staring at the stars. Eyes as green as the surrounding grass counted each individual star and cited their names in their mind; their body was relaxed against the grass and remained unmoving.
Fiery red hair with hues of orange lay fanned out, in unruly curls acting as a pillow and sort of halo to the figure. Their chest rose slowly up and down as crimson red trickled from the corner of pink lips. The blue satin gown was stained with the crimson color, poolling from their midsection and spilling out around them, staining the vibrant grass and their once perfect dress.
Footsteps crunched the grass, sounding as if the figure was running. A man dressed in a black cloak ran towards the lying down figure. His golden eyes shone brighter than the stars in the night sky, his own chest rose and fell quickly as his legs carried him towards the figure. His cloak bellowed behind him, his hood having fallen down when he began running. He was frightened that he was too late; his heart ached at the thought of spending this life and the next without the figure or their companion.
The figure came into view and he paused, his golden eyes searching the empty field for their companion. His heart fell as he realized that he was nowhere in sight and he had a sinking feeling that he would not arrive until it was too late. His eyes landed on the figure lying in the tall grass and he was running once more. Once he reached the figure he collapsed onto his knees beside them. His tan hands reached forward and he realized that they were shaking, in all his years his hands had never shook.
"I'm here; I came as quickly as I could." His words spilled from his lips as his eyes took notice of the large gaping wound on the young woman's body.
His hands instantly hovered over the wound but his eyes were pulled from the wound and to the grass green eyes of someone he loved whole heartedly. Her eyes shone with unshed tears and a warm and soft smile played at her lips, crimson blood trickled down the corners and he gently wiped it away.
"I was beginning to wonder if you would make it, I was thinking that you were right. I don't think I can count all the stars in one night." Her voice came out in a low whisper, her eyes focused on his face as she stared at him.
She always found him to be the most beautiful demon she had ever seen. His skin had always been kissed by the sun, his eyes like liquid gold. His hair was the color of a raven and soft as its feathers, she always loved to run her fingers through it while they waited to be rescued from whatever trouble they had gotten themselves into.
