"Where. Is. She." Alec growled, his hands clenching and unclenching as he tried to refrain from hitting someone.

His mark stung and he had convinced himself it was Emerson, something was wrong and she was in trouble. Jocelyn and Clary had run back to the institute after calling Luke. They had explained what had happened, how a girl out of no where showed up and took Emerson away. How Clary felt something different from the girl that had only made Alec even more infuriated with the pair. Now they were standing outside in an alley, Luke was examining the car they had seen Emerson get into.

"We'll find her, I'm sure she's not far from here." Simon offered as he stared at Alec in confusion.

Ever since Emerson showed Alec had been vastly different and now even Jace and Luke were acting different. Simon had talked to Izzy about it and found that they were keeping something even from Clary and Jocelyn. Izzy had been spying on them earlier that morning but she couldn't make out what they were saying. Now, seeing how angry and panicked Alec, Luke and Jace were, more than Clary and Jocelyn, he and Izzy couldn't help but share their suspicion.

"Alec do you feel okay?" Jace questioned, his eyes flickered towards Alec's jacket covered arm.

Alec closed his eyes and pinched the bridge of his nose, trying to calm down and figure out what he was feeling. He felt angry and worried but that didn't mean Emerson. His mark stopped stinging and he breathed deeply, he could feel her as if she was standing next to him and was tracing his mark. He felt calm and knew that where ever she was, she was also calm.

He focused harder on the feeling of her being there with him, everything else washing away and he found himself seeing her in his minds eye. Sitting at a table and eating, laughing as she watched a girl with blonde hair wave her hands around. He couldn't hear the girl's words but he heard Emerson, laughing and smiling. Suddenly Emerson turned to where Alec stood his eyes full of worry and he felt her stand and walk towards him.

"Magnus's apartment." A husky voice whispered that sounded as it was him talking when he first woke up in the morning.

Alec's eyes snapped open and he found the others staring at him. Jocelyn and Clary looked worried; Simon and Izzy looked suspicious while Jace and Luke looked curious. Alec rubbed the back of his neck letting out a breath of air as he fought with what to do.

She was at Magnus' apartment and she seemed to know the girl she was laughing with. His mark didn't burn and everything in him told him that she was fine but something else told him to stay away. He wasn't meant to go there, to see the girl.

"Alec?" Jace questioned as he watched Alec fight with himself. Alec was gnawing on his lower lip and running his hand through his hair and rubbing the back of his neck. He looked torn, as if he didn't know what to do.

"Why don't we split up, Simon and the girls can go back to the restaurant and you and Jace and I can look around here some more." Luke suggested, he knew Alec found done something that he couldn't say with the others here. He wasn't sure what happened or what it was Alec was so torn about but he had a feeling it had something to do with him being the Guardian.

"Yeah, that's good idea; we'll meet back at the train station in an hour." Jace said, rushing to get the others gone so Alec could talk. It looked as if Alec was about to explode and he knew if the others didn't leave now, then they would learn the secret that needed to be kept for a bit longer.

"How about no? What the hell is going on? A girl took my daughter and you want us to leave the last known place she was?" Jocelyn growled as she glared at Luke, not understanding why he would want her to leave. He knew Emerson had the mark, so why wasn't he trying harder to find her?
