Chapter 34

Derek's POV






I sensed something different about Vanessa. One, the more Jack and her are together, the stronger they're getting.

Two, her scent was off. It was the same sweet aroma I came to know, just something extra thrown in there.




I have to teach her about her powers soon. What a pure wolf can do is absolutely fascinating. They can radiate their feelings. So if Jack or Vanessa were sad, other people would feel sad. If they felt happy others would feel it and so on.

They can also use elements and control them. With a snap of a finger they can make fire and with a wave of a hand they can form water into shapes.

I believe that the Moon Goddess destined the both of them as mates to eventually create more pure wolves.

Their kind is just naturally good. Like angels, sweet and kind but do things that they have to do. Guarding loved ones and helping ones in need.




As I was in my office thinking of these things I heard a knock.

"Come in."

Vanessa walked in with a smile on her face. Automatically I did the same. You see what I mean? Radiating happiness.

"Hey Derek I wanted to talk to you."

I folded my hands. "Go ahead and sit down."

She obeyed and crossed her legs. She then looked nervous, or unsure if what she's going to say will be regretted.

"You can tell me anything you know that right?"

She looked up and nodded. "Yes." She paused. "If I say this you won't tell anyone?"

"If that's what you want."





"I want this to be a surprise to Jack and my brother. It was going to be for you too, but I'm curious about it. Sage and Ariana told me because I didn't know it yet and-"


I stopped her. "What is it?"

She took a deep breath and said,"I'm pregnant."




Already?


Before I would've been jealous, but ever since their mating, the little bond broke with our wolves. Now, I couldn't be happier for her and her mate.

"Derek?"


I snapped my head up.

"Is everything ok?"


I broke out into a full on grin and went over to her and hugged her.

She tensed in surprise, but then hugged back tightly.

"Jack will be the happiest man in the world when he finds out."

"You think so?"

"Absolutely. You're carrying his pup, it'll be a beautiful child."

She blushed. "Thank you."

"Now that I know the big news, what are you so curious about?"




"Well, we mated only a week ago, and people are starting to sense the baby."


So that's it. "I noticed something off."

She continued. "I wanted to ask you why it's growing so fast."


Ahhh. Here's my chance to tell her about her powers.


"Well, you and Jack are pure wolves right?"

"Yeah I know that."

"Since the both of you are so strong already, it causes the baby to be even stronger. And it's growth is being affected by that."

"How long until I'm due."

"At the most, three months."

Her jaw dropped. "That's it?!"

"Yup."

"I'll start showing in at least a week!"

"That's right."


I decided to tell her now.

"Vanessa I've never told you this before."

"What?"

"You and Jack have special abilities."

"I know that already. More stamina and agility, stuff like that."

"More. Pure wolves were blessed by the Moon Goddess to have powers like hers."

Her eyes widened.

"It starts to come naturally when you find your mate. You can radiate feelings, control the elements, and much more. You're like an angel. All pure wolves are beautiful, powerful, and just, well, pure."

"I can't believe it."

"Don't worry, I'll teach you and Jack how to control your powers. I'll do you after you give birth though. It'll be safer that way."

Suddenly she gave me another hug. I didn't hesitate returning it.

"What was that for?"




"For everything."
