Chapter 36

Vanessa's POV







It was noon, and all morning Jack and I lounged on the couch together. Just relaxing and enjoying the comfort of each other before we went on our picnic.

Now I was upstairs, doing the final touches of my outfit. I never wear makeup, never did. I don't know how either, my mom didn't get a chance to teach me.

I sighed, wishing I had moments like other daughters did. Shopping trips, teaching me how to score my first boyfriend....

That I had to learn myself.





I looked in the mirror, I wore an oversized sweater that said "Taken" to cover my stomach, I'm telling Jack today about the baby, and some black leggings with grey converse.

My hair was left down as usual and I nodded in approval. I couldn't wear some of my favorite clothes because of my pregnancy, which sucks, but Sage and Ariana are going to get me bigger clothing.

I met Jack downstairs, and man, every time it look at him it's like the first.

His brown hair tousled, his light green eyes sparkled, and his pink lips curled into a smile.

He wore a black V-neck and a leather jacket, I laughed to myself. Copier.

He opened his arms wide, welcoming me and gratefully accepted. His trailed kisses down my neck until I giggled and told him someone would see us.

Sparks flew constantly for the slightest touches. He drew me close to his side, arm on my waist and we walked to Dylan's motorcycle. He hopped on and held out his hand for me.



I grabbed it and sat behind him. I wrapped my arms around his waist and set my head on his shoulder.

He revved the engine.

"You ready?"

"Yup."

"I'm not going slow."

I chuckled, "I never asked you to."



Without hesitating we went off on the road.

I threw my head back and laughed at nothing. I guess it was just me being excited at the daredevil action.

The ride wasn't long, of course because we were going at least 80 mph.


I was carrying all the food and the blanket in a backpack that I was wearing. We stepped off and he led the way.

He grabbed my hand and pulled me along. It was obvious that he was really excited about what he was going to show me.



After at least ten minutes of walking and talking, he shushed me.

"Shhhhh."

He put his hands over my eyes and walked me forward.

I giggled,"Where are you taking me?"

He whispered in my ear,"It's a surprise."






He finally took his hands off my eyes and moved them to my waist. He rested his head on my shoulder.

"You can look now."



I gasped and put my hands over my mouth in awe.

"It's beautiful," I said barely whispering.

"Not as much as you."

I spun around and stood on my toes to kiss him and wrapped my arms around his neck.

"It's perfect."

I leaned back on him, taking a mental picture of the sight before me.

There were tall trees all lined up in a row. And everywhere, were purple irises. And I mean everywhere.

You couldn't see the ground, sunlight shone through the canopies of trees. I gazed at the stretching woods behind all this.

It was a secret part that no one knew about, a secluded area that was waiting to be found.




Jack took the backpack off of me and set everything up. He set the blanket and plopped down with me.

He organized the food in front if us since we sat next to each other. There was a champagne bottle, a bread loaf, strawberries, and little croissants.


"Hmmm, someone was in a French mood."

He blushed and looked down,"I wanted you to like it."

"Well I don't."

His face flashed with hurt.

I caressed his cheek,"I love it."

He sighed with relief. He brought me closer and sat me on his lap.

"I love you."



I was about to reply, when I remembered the baby. What if he didn't love me anymore if I told him?

He lifted my chin,"Baby are you ok?"

I sat on the ground next to him, off his lap. He looked puzzled by my actions but I looked at me hands.

"Vanessa?"

I looked up and there was worry in his eyes.

I held his hands in mine,"You will always love me right?"

He laughed."What kind of question is that?"

"A serious one."

He stopped, and replied,"Of course. You're my mate and I couldn't imagine my life without you."

"Even if I told you something life changing about us?"

"I'll always be by your side."



I took a deep breath, and said it.

"I'm pregnant."















His eyes widened, god I shouldn't have done this.


All of a sudden I was in his arms and spun me around.

He laughed like crazy. "Are you serious?!"

"Dead serious."

He laughed even more and layer me on the ground. He peppered me with kisses and all over my stomach.

"Why were you so worried?"

"I thought you might not want it."

"You're crazy!There's nothing I would want more than to be a father of our pup."

He jumped up and started yelling to the sky.













"I'm gonna be a DAD!"
