Chapter 42

Sooo sorry for the long wait. I've been traveling a lot, from North Carolina to California and a lot of other place. Andd I might have to get a new phone again.. But the book will go on!

Vanessa's POV

The world stopped. My heart stopped. Before me was the most amazing man I've ever met, proposing!

All of a sudden it started raining. Jack still stood on one knee, waiting for an answer that will change our lives completely.

As soon as I started to answer, something stopped me. Although I was soaked, there was something wet trickling down my leg.

Realization came to me when I gasped. "Jack!"

He immediately stood up to see what was wrong. "Is it too soon? It's too soon isn't it? I knew I shouldn't ha-"

"JACK!"

His face was bewildered. He never heard me yell at him before.

"Yes?"

"My water broke!"

His eyes went big,"It did?"

"Any other reason why I would say that?!"

He put his hands up,"Ok ok."

He then picked me up and carried me at supernatural speed to the car.

When he drove, his face was one I couldn't read. He looked excited, focused, and scared all at the same time. I started getting contractions, I screamed out in pain. Werewolf births are much worse than human ones.

They're more complicated, but we're also stronger. I was made to endure this pregnancy.

We were finally at the pack house, and Jack mind linked Derek and Dylan to come out immediately.

In a matter of econds, they were by my side. Carrying me to the pack doctor.

I continued to screech, I couldn't help it! I've never felt this much pain in my life. Not even my first shift. My brother and Derek were running. I felt their fear and concern. There was something wrong.

I came in and out, not seeming to actually BE in the room.

Then there was just faded figures, the people that were closest to me, seemed so far away. I felt my body laid on top of a bed. Agony continued to flow in every part of me, yet I was numb. I felt my hand spark, Jack was squeezing my hand. He was pleading for me to say strong. He told me to push, and I did. I used all my strength.

I pushed until I couldn't breathe.

I felt something come out of me, but I couldn't see. I couldn't see my baby boy. My eyes were shut, I was so tired. So tired..

Then, I saw flashes of white, then the last words whispered in my ear,"Stay strong Vanessa."

Author's Note: Cliffhanger! What will happen to Vanessa and her family? This book is almost over! I'm sorry about that, but all good things must come to an end.
