Chapter 37

Jack's POV





My heart pumped with adrenaline. I just got the happiest news of my life!

I loved the way it sounded when Vanessa told me I was the father of our child.




After our date, we went to the pack house. I was eager to tell everyone about my pup.

I was so proud, and I really didn't care what the gender was. What I'm wondering is, with Vanessa and I being pure wolves, how will our child turn out?

I'll have to ask her or Derek later.







All the time I think about my parents, were they pure too? I hear stories about people like me who are pure, but they're family members are ordinary.

I didn't understand, am I part of a plan that the moon goddess created? To put Vanessa and I together for some reason?

Is the baby the reason? I don't know. I didn't want to put much thought into it. I decided to just give my undivided attention to Vanessa and her pregnancy.

I can't imagine having another person inside me. And the cravings, throwing up, and hormones don't sound very fun.



Currently, I was laying down with her on our bed. She was tired from today, I was a little too. Our date has been a very important event in our lives.

She looked so serene, peaceful. I rubbed her stomach, feeling a hard bump.

It seemed to grow every second, Vanessa said that this is her second month and three is when the baby is due.

I couldn't believe it when she said that, but it is what it is. If anything, it's good because she doesn't have to deal with nine months, and our baby comes sooner. I didn't know about the bad though, all the dangers that come with bearing a child. I would stay by her side 24/7 to protect and give to her every need. I wouldn't let a male look, touch, or think about her.

Unless of course it's Dylan or Derek.

Tomorrow, I'm going to start its room. I'll wait to paint it when I find out the gender.







Vanessa stirred and opened her eyes, her emeralds brilliantly bright with life. She smiled up at me, and I couldn't help but smile back.

"Can we talk to Derek?"

"Sure, I have a few questions to ask him anyway."











Vanessa's POV





Jack and I made our way downstairs to Derek's office.

I already talked to him, but I can imagine the questions Jack has. All he wants is the best for the baby and I.

I knocked, and heard,"Come in."


Jack and I walked in, finding Derek working on some papers. He looked up and instantly put them to the side.

He smiled and stood up to greet us. He hugged me and shook Jack's hand. I rolled my eyes. They're so formal.

"How are you two?"

I answered. "Great I-"

Jack cut me off,"She's pregnant!"


He laughed in amusement. "I see. I was excited about it too."

My mate's face twisted in confusion.

"You knew already?"

"Well, yes, because Vanessa had to ask me some questions about how much time she had to prepare for the baby to come."

"Oh."

I laughed and squeezed his hand. "If I didn't have any questions I would've told everyone at the same time."

He pecked my lips and sat down in the chairs in front if Derek's desk. Derek sat behind it.

"I'm guessing you're curious about the baby as well Jack."

He nodded. "I do, but really just one big question."

"Shoot."

"If Vanessa and I are pure, how will our baby turn out?"

Derek thought about it for a moment, then said,"I can't be exactly sure, but as far as I know, the both of you already are strong with special abilities and powers." He paused, then continued. "After you two learn how to control them I will help you with the baby."

"Will the baby be stronger than us?"












"The royal blood will definitely flow stronger, you two are the first pure wolves to be mates. Your child will be making history."
