Megan.

With the warm, gold mug filled with hot chocolate clasped between my hands, I sat in the bay window of my bedroom watching the snow fall, coating the cement in bright white. Though it was damn near freezing outside, the sun was bright and I could only hope that it didn't put an end to the winter wonderland.

Snow days were always reflective days for me. I would always think of the best days in my life and the worst days of my life. I'd think about how Trey and I had become one for the first time on a snow day, then I'd think about how much had changed.

I chuckled bitterly to myself as I stood, having enough thinking time. Usually, my thoughts would end at the good times we had and with me reminding myself that everything happens for a reason. But that was before we had crossed that line and he had played me and had me looking stuck on fucking stupid.

I poured the remains of my now cold chocolate down the drain and walked around the empty, quiet apartment until I reached the sofa. I sighed deeply before eyeing the gold watch on my wrist and plastering a smile on my face.

It was almost three, and Alysia would be here any moment. It took her forever to get to even answer my calls let alone leave the house, so I didn't want to have anything but positivity and good vibes around her.

Just as expected, the bell rang and I quickly hopped up. I had been trapped in my thoughts all morning since Trey had picked TJ up.

"Who is it?" I wondered as I reached the door.

"Lee. Hurry up, I have to pee." she said and for a second  thought she was back to her normal goofy self, but when I swung the door opened and saw her face I knew it was only a facade. She quickly ran past me and to the bathroom while I made my way to the kitchen to prepare the spaghetti with the ground turkey that thawed out on the counter top.

"It smells good in here." She said she plopped down on the bar stool closest to me. I giggled as I pulled all of my ingredients out of the cabinets and fridge.

"I didn't even start cooking yet."

"I don't mean the food, dumb dumb." She laughed as well which made me look up at her. "I meant the candle."

I stared at her for a moment really just wanting to wrap my arms around her and tell her how much I loved her since I never got the chance to after her tragic loss. I wanted to give her the opportunity to cry to me instead of alone like I knew she had been doing.

"Don't." She mumbled before shifting her attention elsewhere and I respected her wishes. "So what's new with you?" She asked. It had been a few weeks and she actually did miss a lot in my life.

"Girl a lot." I laughed. "So you know Trey and I had sex or whatever." I mumbled as I chopped tomatoes. "And since then-"

"You what?" She yelled almost making me chop my thumb off. "Oh my God! I knew it. Jermaine owes me money!" She laughed. "I'm so excited. So does this mean you guys are working on getting ba-"

"Y'all bet on us?" I chuckled.

"Of course. It took a while, but I knew it was going to happen. So are you going to move back in-"

"Alysia." I said before clearing my throat. She stopped speaking and I just shook my head from left to right, slightly embarrassed. "He told me if was a mistake."

"No way." She laughed. "He did not come out of his mouth and say any such thing." She said unintentionally adding insult to injury. "He probably didn't mean it how you took it. Maybe you two should talk."

I rolled my eyes. I was tired of being told he didn't mean it how I took it. "How the hell else should it be taken?" I slightly snapped. "I don't want to talk. We have nothing to talk about unless it concerns Tristan."
