Tremaine.

I unintentionally paced back and forth trying to pick my brain for any sign that Kayla had lied to me about her relationship and a sign that Megan's feelings for me went beyond the friendship we had built after our split.

To say I felt like a fucking idiot was an understatement.

As I waited for Kayla to get home, I tried to remember the time when we first met and if her story about Chase had changed at all. Coming up with nothing and hearing Kayla walking up the stairs to our bedroom, I decided the only way I would know for sure would be by asking her directly.

She walked in, noticed the look on my face and smiled. "Hey baby."

She must've known I was upset, because for that past two weeks, she barely wanted anything to do with me. Now I was baby again.

"You and Chase were engaged?" I asked looking directly into her face.

"Huh?" She asked shifting her eyes from mine to the ground then back up.

"You fucking heard me. You lied to me and told me y'all broke up. Why?"

"Trey, I-"

"Why would you tell me you and this man weren't together knowing y'all were about to get married? Got me looking like I wreck homes and shit. You told me y'all were going through a bad break-up. Or did you say that just because you knew my wife and I were separated."

I watched her face grow a bit colder as the term wife passed my lips, but she still didn't find any words to say leading me to believe that everything I was told was true.

"And you knew you were pregnant with this man's baby, and fucked me anyway?" I asked turning up my nose in disgust. "What type of shit do you be on? Not only is that nasty as hell, but fucked up to him. You take disloyalty to a whole different level." I vented. "Probably had him sitting in the doctor's office with you and everything just to come trying to claim me as the dad. What the fuck is wrong with you?" I found myself yelling causing tears to trickle down her cheeks.

"Listen, I was young. That was years ago. I admit that some things that happened weren't great, but they led us together. That's what really matters right?" She asked as she placed her hands against my chest.

I laughed and stepped back looking at her like she had three heads. She couldn't be serious.

"You need to go." I told her and watched her eyes widen.

"Tremaine." She gasped. "You can't be serious. After-"

"No, you can't be serious. There's no way you think being a deceitful bit-" I started, but caught myself.

"Who the hell have you been talking too? Megan? You know her and Chase are probably teaming together to get back at us for leaving them-"

"Listen, do you really think I want to hear that shit right now?" I laughed. "Whether Kaiden was mine or not, I was still going back to my wife." I told her and watched her face dropped. "But she decided she didn't want any parts of it. That's the only reason we aren't together. Then to find out you lied about everything. You have to go."

Her mouth hung opened as she watched me move over to the dresser and begin to pull her clothes out.

"I'll pay for a hotel if you need me to. However long you want to stay there. Shit, you could move in for all I care. I'll pay for it if you're taking Kaiden. He can stay with me. Doesn't matter, but you need to go." I laughed bitterly. How in the fuck had I been so stupid to deal with her. Even stay with her after finding out her baby wasn't mine to begin with. What the fuck was I trying to prove?
