Being the youngest in the palace was not the most fun situation. Though you were obviously spoiled, your father would teach you all the good values in life, and how to keep your life straight and not mess up like he did. He wanted to make sure that you were a much more kinder and caring person than him, but that also meant you'd have to kiss up to your older cousin, Ingrid, just to have a good day.

She treated you like a sister, but harshly pushed you around and made you do things that she would sit back and laugh upon. From spilling her tea all over your lap, to even dropping plates of food and making you clean it up, it certainly was pushing your buttons, and your grandmother kept a watchful eye at the bullying that was occurring between the both of you.

Frigga would teach both you and your cousin the duties of being queen, and how you must show nothing but respect and kindness towards all your citizens. Frigga knew you would not have a problem, but she also knew that Ingrid would certainly be put up to the test and try to beat you to it.

One morning, you were doing nothing but taking a lovely stroll through the streets of Asgard, playing hide and seek with the fellow children that lived all around, you could hear the giggles of the young children all hiding behind bales of hay. "I wonder where you guys are," you smiled, before grabbing a hay bale and throwing it on the ground, revealing a group of smiling children.

"Aha!" You exclaimed, as they all screamed and laughed as you made funny faces at the children, before feeling a tap on your shoulder. "Miss (Y/N), your presence is requested by the queen" a guard spoke, as you spun around and smiled. "Give me a moment please," you said, before turning back around to face the giggling children. "We'll have a rematch next time, I promise" you said, before saying your goodbyes, and being escorted back to the palace, to find your cousin standing next to Frigga.

"A lack of punctuality will lead to nothing but lack of knowledge" Frigga spoke, as you bowed your head down in shame, and nodded. "I apologize, I was nonetheless playing a harmless game of hide and seek" you muttered, as Ingrid scoffed. "And playing hide and seek will insure yourself as Queen?" Ingrid cackled, as Frigga raised an eyebrow at her.

"I do not care of the throne as much as you, I care to only show kindness and gratitude to the rest of the kingdom" you said, feeling your cheeks grew hot. "Yes, and when enemies come strolling into Asgard we'll offer them a drink and something to eat out of respect" Ingrid spat, as Frigga stomped her foot. "Enough!" She exclaimed.

"You're both just like your fathers! Bickering over who's better for the throne, who cares and who doesn't! It's truly tiring!" Frigga exclaimed, causing you to bow your head down in shame. "I apologize for our childish acts, grandmother" you whispered, before feeling a gentle hand rest on your shoulder.

"Your apology is gladly accepted" your fathers soft voice rung through your ears bringing a smile to form across your face. Your cousin stood to watch Loki excuse you from your grandmothers teachings, to help you relax and decompress from everything.

He took you for a walk in the garden secluded from all of the palace, which was your favorite place to catch up on a good book. "Tell me, what has been making you upset?" Loki asked, as you pressed your gentle hands across your dress. "It's nothing, really" you muttered, taking a seat across a beautifully sculpted bench that was right in between two perfectly trimmed shrubs.

"Your grandmother begs to differ. She says you're easily hurt by your cousins remarks and attitude" Loki took a seat right next to you, trying to pry some answer out of you, to understand why you've been sad all the time.

"I guess, it is a little bit of Ingrid.." You trailed off, hearing a scoff. "Either it is, or it isn't (Y/N) I need an answer!"

"Fine! It is. It's the constant taunting, the constant remarks about how unpunctual I am! And I'm sick of it!" You cried, feeling hot tears threatening to poor, as you whimpered and used the sleeve of your dress to wipe them away before they could spill down your cheeks.

"I don't even want to be queen anymore" you spoke softly, feeling your fathers warm arms wrap around you. You absorbed his warm aura, and could feel his energy collide with yours, feeling like a million explosions all across your body. You could feel him trying to make you happy, because he hated when you were sad.

"You don't have to be queen, you never had to be. You have more kindness than desire to rule in your heart, and that's what everybody loves about you, that being kind is better than having all the power" your father spoke, using his thumb to wipe away a stray tear. "Besides, I don't think many people favor that oafs daughter anyways, she isn't the most prettiest girl in the realm" Loki spoke, as you gasped and slightly slapped his shoulder, but joining in on a small laugh with him, forgetting all about your snobby cousin.
