Aurora's POV

Today was the last day of school and it was so freaking exhausting because after school  around the time the sun was setting some stupid demons decided they wanted to have some fun. So of course Lily (short for Lilian Willow) had to go out and stop them. GRRRR!!! I really hate them (I'm grumpy because it was that time of the month again and all I wanted was sleep). As Lily opened the door, I went straight to my room and dropped in my bed. I remember when I first found out about my life-long job. It was on my 16th birthday, trust me not the ideal birthday present.

*Flashback*

"Happy Birthday, Aurora,"  someone said behind me as i closed the door.

"Wha..." I began as Lily came in..

"Interesting," was all he said as I grabbed Lily hand.

"Who, in Jesus' name, are you and why are you in my house?" I asked with a little too much attitude.

"He is the Trainer my dear," my mom said as she came out from nowhere.

She insisted that we sit down so we did and then this Trainer guy started to explain everything from why he was there to what Lily and I were.

  "I'm a Dark Angel?" I choked out.

'"And I"m a demon?" Lily managed to ask.

"Yes both of you have the blood of the creatures you just named but Lily you are not meant to be evil as your kind but you are destined to fight along side your best friend Aurora," he explained.

It was then the Trainer had created a  blood bond between us, that was when we exchanged blood so that it bond us. We could hear each other thoughts and communicate from far away when our cell phone were out of services or in emergencies. Also I could see through Lily's eyes when she gave me the permission and vice versa. He then took us away for a few months to  train us. Though it was months in real time, it was a few years in the Guardian realm.

*Flashback Ends*

"Oi, where is your chocolate ice-cream?" Lily called from downstairs.

"In the freezer behind the ice," I replied then dropped into a deep sleep that I was fighting.

 *DREAM*

I was walking in the streets and suddenly I saw a man walking. He wore black pants with a white shirt and a very long black duster that was dragging on the ground. Everyone was walking past him, bouncing into him not paying any attention to him what-so-ever. Then suddenly a man dropped down and I was about to go help him when my grandmother grabbed onto my shoulders. I wasn't able to move then I saw the man in black stand next to man who fell to the ground.

I looked at my grandma and her facial expression was one of fear, coldness and worry. Then she saw me looking at her causing her face to go blank. The man in black held out his hand and the something smokey came out of the man. Then was I able to see his features properly, he had a perfect nose, pitch black eyes and long black wavy hair that encased his handsome face. He had a a beard growing though it wasn't fully grown, it made him look more handsome well gorgeous. Gorgeous was Batman to me, come on I was 10 years old.

Suddenly Grandma let me go and I took that chance to go to the fallen man. I dropped by his side and tried to see if I heartbeat but of course I couldn't. HE WAS DEAD!!! I turned to see grandma turn pale as she was talking to the man in the black.

"Grandma HELP!!!" I yelled as I turned back the man on the ground.

She came to my side and hugged me...

That evening when I asked her who that man was, she was taken back that I could. Apparently I was a Special one, who could see Death.

"Death Grandma, that Handsome stranger was death?" I asked.

"Yes baby girl, the one who comes to collects souls after they past on from their body," Grandma had answered.

"So you ever talked to him before?" I asked, yeah I loved asking questions.

"Yes honey but I cannot tell you what we talked about, just promise me that you're never going to try to talk to him EVER, and when you see him try not to let him know you can see him, ignore him," was all Grandma said.

                                                     *****************************************

I awoken from that sleep shaking, I was dreaming of the time I first saw Death. It was only a dream, only a dream. I looked up to find a shadow standing near my window and just by the chilled air I knew it was Death.

"Lily, Is that you?" I whispered and pretend to feel around for Lily.

I knew she must have fallen asleep downstairs. I glanced where the figure was standing and he was gone. So far I had kept my promise to my Grandma, I tried to keep away from any and all contact with him. Every time before I saw him, I felt his presence, but when I saw him I know some one was going to die. When I saw him the second time, my first grade teacher had a heart attack and died. The other time, my uncle was backing out the drive way and his car was hit by a dump truck, it flipped a few times he died instantly. Every time I saw him some one died, every time.

Then it hit me, why had he been here, it couldn't be to drop in to give me cupcakes. Sweet baby Jesus, was I going to die? Was my best friend/practically sister, Lily, was going to die? Or my mom or grandma? NOOOO... I wonder I can't lost from my family to the handsome stranger called Death. He was intriguing as well as evil, dark amongst many things but he never frightened me. However I feared for the life of those I love.

No way in hell!!! Better watch out Death...

Because I am not going to give up without a FIGHT!!!
