I think it's time we learn about Death and we can see why he is the way he is. This is something that I've been contemplating since I started the book, as in when should I bring this in? I think it's time we give my beloved characters some depth. This is where the Big Guy is talking about Death and Yang. This song kind of spoke of me for this chapter of Yin Yang/ Life Death.

A being that feared. A being no one wanted to see. They would always hope and pray that they don't see him. He was a being that had seen the world go through its most painful and blissful times. He was with the humans in their time of war and peace. Mortals and most lower class demons are the only ones afraid to die. No one understood the beauty of Death. He is the ending and the process to the beginning of the cycle of life, and people fear this.

When I created him, he did not take the form of the dark power you see him as today. He was known as Yang. The mortals were not the first to come up with the concept of the Yin and Yang, it was a universal fact that they learnt through my power. Yin and Yang represented birth and death. I needed someone to take control over both and so I created two very old souls that would carry forth the concepts. Yang was meant to represent the masculine, strength, brighter side of the duo, however it should be noted that the Yang has a speck of Yin within it. Yin is suppose to be more feminine, smarter, darker side to the duo and within her, there is Yang. Yang starts an action and the Yin receives it. Yang, the being known as Death, starts the process of the afterlife and Yin which is known as Life, receives it, allowing the soul to achieve ultimate salvation or rebirth. They are not total opposites of one another, they are relative to each other in every sense of the way. Everything in my creation contains the seed of its opposite.

Yang can go berserk. The darkness you see today is a result of him tapping into his darker power. It was because of that, that I decided to create a partitioned personality within Death. Yang was laid to rest in him and Death would be the forefront of the duo, that is, until Death finds his Life and Yang finds his Yin back. Without his counterpart, he is very unstable. I fear that he would harm the very things that he is meant to protect.

The bright little thing that sat before me asked a question that I really did not wish to answer, but for her to perform her duties well, it was necessary. She asked what caused Yang to lose control and in return for answering her question, I asked that she did not tell Death about this part of the conversation.

Yang once had his Yin, in the beginning of time when I first started the creation of these worlds. They were a balanced force that was with me after the creation of my first set of sons and daughters. They were the last to be created and they were created independently. From different world energies, Yang or Death as you call him, was created from the energy to lead souls to another life while Yin was created from energy that allowed life and rebirth. When they took form, they were my most precious as they embodied all that is my creation, though I did not expect for them to fall in love when they first met. They were two sides of the same coin, opposite yet the same. However one of my very own creation lead me to make difficult decision. That creation was known as Cartaphillus. He was tainted by the manifestation of evil into reality. He wanted to consume Yin in a fit of jealous contempt, as I did not see it necessary to create a counterpart for him. I could not intervene as I had sworn by blood to them that regardless of what happens in the space in-between realms, I would not interfere. In the end, he managed to trick Yang and trap Yin.

However he did not even consider the idea that Yin would destroy herself in hopes of protecting the world and Yang. This caused Yang to become unhinged, giving in to the darker side within himself. His true form became distorted and he grew into what humans called a fallen angel. His form was dark and grotesque to the dimwitted eye yet beautiful and broken to the intelligent. Without his counterpart, it was like good existing without evil or evil existing without good. It was unstable and the life in all my realms were in grave jeopardy. I commanded Time to stop his flow, pausing life as we know it and watched as Yang pushed Cartaphillus through the barriers. It was then, when they had entered the demon sphere, that I intercepted them. Cartaphillus, an immortal was bound to a rotting body in the Mortem Realm's sector, The Void. Yang was contained and the spark of Yin within him, I retrieved and sent into the mortal world. This was the only way to ensure that she would return into being for him. However when I extracted Yin's essence from him, he was left a shell of inequilibrium forcing me to instill a part of myself within him to act as the Yin, as a means of balancing him out until his other half returned.

Death was created out of the negative energies within Yang but fear not, they are one person. They would remain divided until Yin, Life is reunited with them. I watched the Little Thing distort her face in thought, though it was as clear as day as to what she was thinking. I stopped her. I could not give away the entire plot, now could I. I laughed at her when I immediately asked a question that she did not expect. I asked if she knew Death's real name and she answered Yang? Again I laughed and said she was half right. To the world and most of creation, he is known as Yang or Death. His real name was Acacius Yang. His first name means 'innocent, not evil'. I had given him this name after the early generation of mortals began to see him as the Devil, but he never uses it. He prefers to be known as Death.

I smiled at the child and patted her head. Hopefully now they would have something to talk about when they see each other again. I pray to myself that the log-head learns to speak to his woman otherwise there is going to be big conflict in the Mortem Realm. Where did all the sweet talk and finesse he had when he was Yang go? I sighed and helped her up, stating that it was time to head back to the agitated Death. Although she had calmed down, she was still quite cross with him. This should be interesting. I always liked to see my most stubborn creation squirm with discomfort. I smirked and led her away.
