Death's POV
Looking at the night sky in the Mortem Realm was a sight that mortals claim, belongs in heaven. There is beauty in Death. That is a fact that mortals tend to shun as they hold an attachment to their realm. The night sky was almost a purple black, littered with numerous sparkling stars (both very prominent and also so tiny they were mere specks). There were flares of bright blue streaks here and there. The meteor shower that rained every night, added to the beauty of the Mortem Realm. Real beauty, unbiased in the emotions and standards of the mortal and immortal society, existed here.
I sighed as my gaze shifted to the window of the room that Aurora stayed in. She was a mysterious little thing. I felt her energy pulse through her veins as I did when I met her as she fought off Ben and his slaves (reference to chapter 30). But that could not be so as the Mortem Realm bound her powers and unique abilities as Guardian and a Special. She was now the most human than she was ever in her entire life, but that flare of power that rang through her veins was very much real. I would have to talk to the old man about that or the oracle because contrary people believe, Death is not all knowing.
My bride was a strange woman, she felt so different from other females, so familiar. I felt as if I knew her, as if I recognized her soul, there was an oddly old bond between us. I very well intend on finding out what it was, who she truly was to me. That was when my thoughts came to screeching halt, my bride... I said my bride, not my bride candidate... The Oracle was right, I would know when my bride came in front of me. Aurora is my bride. I had no idea how to feel, as my heart's usually steady pace, quickened to that of a humming bird's wings. This was the first time since I was brought into existence by the old man, that I felt this overwhelming amount of emotions within my body. My chest felt as if it would burst, maybe that was what that old feeling was in me. It was my body recognizing the bond between us, before my logically oriented mind caught on.
Immediately my mind ran on Lilith, what was I to do with her? I could not abandon her as she has been with me since she was reborn as a demon. I always knew she had strong feelings for me but I did not know the extent to which she would go to showcase her feelings. She almost hurt my bride, not to mention she revealed existence the 'Secret of the Mortem Realm', also known as the Mortem Dagger. It was more of this realm's curse than its secret treasure. A weapon hidden from all creation due to its destructive nature.
