Aurora's POV

To say goodbye to the ones you love is never something easy, it always hurts one or both parties more than most could imagine. Gran was pissed that both Lily and I made the decision to leave, well she is more than pissed that 'Death wins'. She had it set in her mentality that Death wins because he gets to take me with him even though she verbally stated a challenge that she would never let him win. My mum cried from the moment, both Death and I broke the news to her yesterday to the late hours this morning before she fell asleep hugging my childhood blanket. Lily and I sat on the roof, not sleeping whole night. Reminiscing our time together, from the moment we met (we heard stories of how we both insisted that the other was our blood sister and we should stay together) to the time we argued and didn't talk for a whole week and we cried and beat each other up for not making the first move.

Our bond had crackled peacefully between us as if it knew that this was a path we both must walk separately. Our hearts were heavy as we had watched the last sunset we knew we would see together for a very long time to come. Maybe this was another test for us, a way to grow stronger separately. How life had thrown a shitty curveball at our face and made us land on our asses. What would become of our bond, what would become of us? We did not know but we did know that regardless of what, we always had each other and we would make our way back to each other.

We were standing in my.. well our room and I let out a small laugh.

       "What?" Lily asked.

"I was just thinking with the way I was thinking just now, if anyone ever heard me, they'd think we were lovers," I laughed out.

She giggled and held my hand as we bade farewell to the room where we cried because our crush liked another girl, where we giggled over hot actors, where we ranted about our mothers unfair attitudes sometimes, where we came up with strategies against those who threatened the balance of nature and where we learned to value each  other and ourselves. We did not know when we will be back in this room, together like we used to be. So we decided it was not good bye but see you again. Heading down the staircase, we held hands and remembered the good, the bad and the ugly. What would life bring us in the next chapter we did not know but we knew what it brought us before and we appreciated that.

"You girls look beautiful," my mum said as she cupped our cheeks and looked deep into our eyes.

We both had on the matching dresses that my mum and Lily's mum bought us, my dress was a blood red and Lily's was a blinding black color. We both smiled at her and give her the famous duo smother hug.

"I'll miss you mama!" I whispered as tears began to well up in my eyes.

"I know babies," she knew that we both would miss her.

"You girls are the strongest persons I know," Lily's mum hugged my mother and us in a giant group hug, "Don't let anyone change that, not us, not those men who's coming here to take you girls away."
