A/N: Warning! There's torture in the beginning! You can skip this by not reading the first paragraph.

(name)'s POV

It was in my back, her magic. It laced up my spine as I let out a loud wail. I struggled in my binds, heart beating a million times a minute. And as soon as the pain in my spine left, a new burn replaced it before I could get even a breath in. A red hot iron rod was being slowly forced through my thigh, and the scream that ripped through my body like a hurricane shocked my throat so much I started forcing out strangled chokes of agony, gasping for air as blood flooded my mouth from the previous torture. Something was bleeding internally, could be worse. Once the sharp rod hit my femur, I could feel Haggar's laugh in my head as she twisted the rod, and forced in a different direction, shredding the ligaments and tendons under the skin. I couldn't even breathe through the pain. I can't cry anymore either, I'm too dehydrated to even let another tear fall. But the stinging in my eyes shows I should be sobbing. Through the pain coursing through my leg, I felt a needle poke through the skin on my shoulder, nothing horrible. At least until the fluid inside was injected. A feeling of lighting shot through the area of the injection, and rendered me motionless as the feeling quickly spread. I know it made me motionless because I would have moved when I felt a surgical knife rip down my body from the dip in my throat to my belly button, then the skin was ripped from the cut and out, shreds of now pale skin peeling away. And as my vision went black as I passed out, I felt a searing pain over my eyes and in my abdomen before everything went dark.

When I woke up I couldn't move, couldn't even open my eyes. But the feeling of the usual pain was gone. Or at least leaving rapidly. Instead was a serene calming, making my body feel warm. It was holding me in place steadily, so I felt safe. At the same time though, my nerves were on fire, and my mind was racing, Where was I? What's this for? How long was I out? Would I ever move again? Well the final question was answered when I heard a click, and a door seemed to open. At least that's what I thought it was. I opened my eyes to find I was right, but I quickly covered my face as bright white light blinded me. One thing's for sure. I'm not on the Galra ship. They're not a fan of light, and usually only had purple. What little I saw was blue and white. Was I dead? I heard voices around me, and a gentle, but strong hold picked me up and took me out of my glass confinement.

The voices sounded distant, but I could make out some of what they were saying. "Why isn't she opening her eyes?" "They were open, Lance." "Well then it was only for a second." "It's too bright, Coran, dim the lights." "Is she okay?" "Maybe she needs longer in the pod." "Not to be rude, but she has an awful fragrance to her." "Allura, she hasn't taken a shower in five years. At least that's what I'm guessing. Right Shiro?" "Yeah, they don't let you bathe there. That's blood, sweat, dirt, any anything else that managed to get on her in five years." "She cried recently." "How can you tell?" "Streaks on her face." "Hush, she's opening her eyes."

There were too many voices, I can't make them all out. Who was who? Who even is who? But then one voice hit me like a train. I know that voice. That's Shiro. He kept his promise. My eyes opened when the bright light over my eyelids faded, and I took in the scene around me. There were seven people. A regal looking woman with elegant white hair, a man with some weight about him, a pale boy with black hair. Only guy I've ever seen actually look decent with a mullet. A tan boy next to him that looked rather lanky. A.. Boy? Girl?.. Lets just call them they for now. A man with the same cheek marks as the regal one, but a different color. He had red hair and a thick mustache. And finally, Shiro. Our eyes locked when I looked at him, and before I could say anything else, the questions started rolling at the same speed as the tears now trailing my cheeks. I couldn't help it. I don't know if I was in shock, or if i was relieved. Maybe both. Maybe more. "Where am I? Who-who are these people? What just happened in that glass.. Thing? What's happening? Why am I-"

Shiro hushed me with a glance and a firm, but kind interruption. "Hey. Questions later. Right now you need to shower, eat, and sleep. Pidge, Allura, lead her to the showers Hunk, Lance and Coran will make her dinner, and Keith and I'll set up a room for her." After instructing the others on what to do, I felt his grasp harden, and I held my breath, waiting for the whip that usually came after a strong grip, but nothing came. I realized he was helping me stand, and Shiro kept his hands at my waist until I could balance myself. He pointed to the regal woman across from me, who was now standing with the other one from earlier. Shiro held a hand over my shoulder, and used his other hand to hold mine, guiding me to the other two. "Watch her. The cells are too small to walk in and it make's you dizzy to try and walk so suddenly again. (Name), this is Allura, and the smaller one is Pidge. They'll take you to the showers and help you wash up." I just nodded, my grip on his hand tightening before I let go. He looked back at me, a gentle hand wiping the tears away from my cheeks, leaving a smudge of clean skin under a few thick layers of blood and dirt. "Hey.. You're safe here. I promised I'd come back for you, and it happened. They wont hurt you. No one here will. Now follow them. I'll see you soon."

With that Shiro disappeared around the corner with Keith, and the other three males went off in a different direction. There were three, so they must be the kitchen crew. I looked up at the one now called Allura. Slightly intimidated by her presence. Hell, everyone was intimidating here. Other than Shiro. I knew him. He wouldn't lie to me. They're safe. I took a shaky breath and greeted them with a soft voice, then I followed between the, one on each side to help support me if my legs were to give out. Pidge looked up at me, a grin on their face. "So, you're the pilot of the Jatrios mission five years ago?"

"Yeah.."

"Where are the others? Brianna and Johnathan I think they were?"

"They're gone.."

"Oh.. I'm so sorry.." Pidge lowered their head, and after hearing they're voice, I can tell for sure this was a girl. And she just had that faint vibe. Allura commented on it as well, gently patting my back in a way of trying to help. "I'm sorry as well, it must have been hard to loose them.." I just nodded my head as I was led into the shower room. Allura showed me how to use the various handles, and handed me some liquids i could only imagine were hygiene products. I didn't pay attention much though. I knew what I was doing. If I could drive a space ship, I can figure out a shower. Pidge laid out some clothes for me on the counter. "We'll be outside the door if you need us. These are my clothes, but we'll get you some of your own soon. But yeah, holler if you need us." And the two disappeared. I looked at the showers, and realized something.

Flying a rocket might be easier that whatever the hell voodoo was going on with this shower. I stepped in and after figuring everything out, I stood still, letting the warm water slide off of my body. I looked down and watched the bottom of the shower fill with various colors of red and brown, some blue, purple, orange maybe, don't know what color that one is though. I cringed, but chuckled to myself. I could be on one of those skittles commercials. My fingers worked the shampoo through my hair and when i rinsed, I noticed the same coloring coat the floor once it was clean. I finished with conditioner and body wash, and stepped out. I looked at the clothes on the counter and quickly changed into them. Despite Pidge's small form, her clothes barely fit me. Not because they were small, but because they were baggy. I'm taller than her, but I lost a lot of weight while I was on that ship. I was bony, my ribs were showing, and my collarbones were jutting out obviously. But that was all I could see from looking down at myself. The idea of a mirror scared me, and I was glad the mirror was fogged over, so all I saw was a blur of my skin. I stepped out and was greeted by Shiro and the guy with black hair. He was Keith I think. Shiro smiled when he saw my clean form. Yes my hair was a lot longer than I wanted, but I'm clean.

Shiro spoke up while leading me down the corridor of the.. Ship? Castle? Flying mansion? Magic school bus? Dunno. "Dinner is ready. And we couldn't find a room, so you'll stay with me for a few days. If that's not okay I'll sleep in the lounge." I perked up at that, shaking my head. "No! I mean, I'm fine with it. Just.. Don't go." He nodded in understanding, and led me to the dining area. I sat down and looked down at the food, my mouth watering at the thought of something other than that shit the Galra gave us, which could have very well been literal feces. I scarfed down half my plate in under a minute, granted the portion, before looking around, now feeling safe enough to ask questions.

"So.. What's going on?"
