(Name)'s POV

The only reason we pulled away was for air, I was busy looking at his lips when I felt Shiro's fingers under my chin. He gently forced my head to tilt up so our eyes met, and I couldn't stop the small laugh that rolled form me. "That was a little sudden.." Shiro just shook his head with a disbelieving smile. "You know, I don't think that it was that sudden. We've been flirting for months, so I figured you were waiting on me to make the first move." I raised an eyebrow, removing my hands from Shiro's shoulders to cross my arms over my chest. "And who said I was flirting? You know, kindness is so rare these days a smile is like a marriage proposal."

"Oh so now we're talking about marriage? Damn I just kissed you and you already want the ring? You know, I can almost say that this was a little sudden." His voice was laced heavy with sarcasm, and I rolled my eyes. "Whatever! It was a figure of speech! And you have no right to go throwing my own words at me." His hands left my waist when I turned my back on him, walking out of the hangar stubbornly. Shiro just followed with a laugh, jogging to walk next to me as I kept my nose turned to the ceiling, relishing in the light hearted argument. "(Name), come on you never even answered me." I'd be lying if I said I wasn't smiling, and that smile only grew bigger at his statement. It was a question. "What question? I don't remember you asking anything."

"We were just sucking faces that kinda counts as a question!" I toppled over in laughter, having to place my hands on my knees to keep myself from completely falling over. "'Sucking faces' isn't exactly a romantic way of putting it!" When I stood up, I wiped my eye and turned around to look at Shiro, who's face showed a legitimate plea for a response. I felt my heart turn, realizing for the few brief seconds I was laughing, I was playing with his emotions. However when I waved my hands at him to show I was just joking, his face twisted into a sly smile and he grabbed me by the wrists, pulling me closer. "Oh man I can't believe you actually fell for that. But really, (name), I need an answer. I've spent months trying to read you, but I just can't come to the conclusion if this is platonic or not. But please, give this a chance. I may be the leader here, but I'm not afraid to admit even I need guidance from time to time. And you've been there for me every step of the way."

The plea in his voice made the humorous atmosphere change into something warmer, and more sincere. I didn't need any time to think, I had already made up my mind. I nodded and leaned into the embrace that followed my answer. His arms wrapped around me firmly, and I felt my feet lift from the ground as he picked me up. I fixated my legs around his waist and pressed my forehead to his, the both of us finally being eye height. We went in for another kiss, but half way through a voice broke our love drunk stupor. Pidge popped up from around the door of the lions hangar, and we both looked over at her in surprise. However, Shiro didn't set me down, so for a few seconds it was just awkward staring. Then Pidge, as if not seeing anything in front of her, placed a hand on her hip and pointed at me.

"Okay, I'm happy for you guys and all, we were all betting on if it happened or not. But Shiro, I need your girlfriend. We've got to do something about the length of your hair (name)." Before Shiro could respond other than setting me down, I spoke up, raising an eyebrow at Pidge. "You were betting on our relationship?"

"Yeah. Keith, Lance and I all said you'd hook up. Allura, Coran, and Hunk all said it wouldn't happen. Said you were strictly best friends. And now that they're wrong, Lance, Keith and I all get extra dessert for a week while the others have to do without." I rolled my eyes and I turned around to see Shiro laughing behind me. "Oh man.. Poor Hunk!" We laughed softly for a few moments before I walked towards Pidge, shrugging my shoulders. Honestly though? I was ecstatic. My hair hasn't been cut in five years, and I'm used to shorter hair. I turn around when Pidge starts leading me away, waving at Shiro. Nothing really changed, the only difference is we have a label, and with that title we're allowed to show affection without worry of the other not returning it. "Hey, I'll see you later!" He just waved with a curt nod, smiling as we turned the corner.
