Mark's POV
I pushed through crowds of people, scanning the crowds for Jack. I looked around frantically, everything was spinning. I was too drunk for this, but I think adrenaline was keeping me semi-straight with what I need to be doing right now. It took me a few seconds to realize that the room itself was not spinning, but I was. I stopped spinning and almost fell over. "Maybe I'm a little bit more drunk than I thought," I said to myself. Once I could see properly, I ran out the front door. I saw Bob standing out leaning on a pole searching on his phone.
"BOB!" I yell-slurred. I watched him turn around in and his face twist into a confused frown.
"Where have you guys been?" He pointed to his phone. "Its 11:40.. I've been waiting here since 10:50!" He sounded upset.
"No Bob have you seen Jack?" I asked.
"What? Yeah when he went looking for you," he said shoving his phone in his pocket.
"Look I'll meet you all at the hotel I'm tired the uber will be here at 12:15 if you guys are all done partying you can come," He said as I ran back into the party saying nothing. Once again I was left pushing through torrents of people, but it was obvious by now he wasn't in there. I took a 180-degree turn around to think when I noticed the back door. I facepalmed and ran towards it. I ended up running by a confused Wade. "Hey Mark I think we sho-"
"NOT NOW!!" I cut him off, continuing to run out the door. It was just woods. I ran into the woods looking for him.
"JACK.....JACK.....JACK!" I yelled while running all over. I stopped in my tracks while stumbling a little bit. The alcohol is really starting to set in now. My head hurt and I began seeing things. I better find him before I get too bad. I kept running forward.
"Is that water?" I was taken back by the sound of rushing water. It got louder as I got closer. I ran towards what might have been a bridge, but then again, my vision was getting really blurry and I began tripping over myself. I closed my eyes and when I opened them, I squinted really hard to see. I was able to see a little better and what I saw scarred me. I gasped and ran as fast as I could towards the bridge.
Jack's POV
I looked down at the rushing water. Tears fell from my eyes. The wind blew my hair out of my eyes yet still stinging the claw marks I had previously made on my arms while I was lost in the woods. I stepped closer to where the tip of my shoe was over the edge.
"JACK!" I knew it was Mark. I won't turn around. It'll hurt too much to see him. I heard his feet stop he was behind me.
"Jack please come down," He pleaded, but you could tell he was a little tipsy.
I stayed silent.
"Jack please you can't do this... I...I love you." As soon as he said that I felt rage surge through my body.
"HOW DARE YOU SAY THAT! HOW DARE YOU LIE TO ME LIKE THAT HOW COULD YOU EVEN TRY TO SAY THAT AFTER WHAT YOU JUST DID!" I screamed looking down at the water and closing my eyes letting the tears fall. It became hard to breathe and my shoulders shook.
"Ja-ack I'm sorry," was all he said. I waited for more but it never came.
I turned towards him seeing the hurt on his face.
I looked directly at him.
"I trusted you. I loved you...I love you," I whispered.
He looked up at me and he mouthed 'I'm sorry' he walked towards me and I tried to step back but my foot ran off the side of the bridge. I remained my balance. "Please st-stay back," I stuttered. I can't do this, not right now. He came a little closer before it happened. He missed the tip of the bridge and tripped. I watched as the little piece of concrete sent him over the bridge. "MARK!" I yelled. And the next thing I knew I was diving in after him.
