Tonight I found an old lamp in the back of the closet. I bought a book from the store the other day after looking up what book it was June was reading. It wasn't hard to figure out after searching up a few lines from it.
After everything, I just wanted to sit back and read. I haven't done that in a while. Even though Emma—June I mean—wasn't awake, at least I was learning. It hurt me, to think that she didn't have anyone. I mean, what's she going to do when she wakes up?
Anyway, this is why I wanted to relax and read. So I settled into the couch, flipped on the lamp, and opened up to page one.
Then the cushion next to me sank and something heavy fell in my lap. I looked down at Zeus, where he was looking up at me. I went to move him off, but he was really cute, with his head upside down in my lap, so I let him be.
I guess I could get used to him.
