So I have decided that I'm going to do it. I am writing the epilogue. I cranked this out in couple of hours so please ignore the crappiness. I almost started squealing while I was writing it though so hopefully you find it feels inducing as I found it.
Thank you to those of you who have commented and voted on this over the duration of my writing. I can't believe that it is done. Writing this fanfic has been an amazing journey and I have to say that I will definitely miss it, even the staring at a computer screen for two hours trying to overcome my writers block.
Also I want to say a huge thank you to those who have been here from the very beginning, two years and a lot of writers block later we made it all the way through.
But, without further ado, this is the epilogue.
The first few months were rough, very similar to the beginning of living in the maze, according to the few Gladers from the beginning that still remained.
We lost many people, wild animals and madness took far too many lives. Luckily, those closest to me never succumbed to either.
But, on the bright side, many more people found us than we lost. There had been a whole other maze of people just like us, except it was all females and two males instead of the opposite.
Every morning, we would wake up and start working until the sun had set, sometimes long after. It was very difficult in the beginning, and slowly got better until the past week. The group of girls from the other maze showed up a few days before and caused our food to be even more scarce than it had been. They were just as willing to work as the rest of us, but the ground has become cold and the temperatures have begun to drop.
Even as I stand here now, looking over everyone working as I tend to my own animals, I can see the gloom draping over everyone.
"When are you going to tell them?" a voice brought me out of my thoughts.
I looked over to Newt, who knew exactly what I was thinking about. We would have to find a second source of food or else the little food that we had stored would run out.
"I'm not going to tell anyone anything until we can talk to Naomi about hunting." I looked back to the lush woods in the distance, we had everything we needed to protect ourselves, why not use it to survive the impending winter? "If she agrees to let us hunt, then we should be able to make it. If not, I'll tell everyone, but I have no idea how I'm going to break the news to them."
Newt looked unsure of my decision, "Y/N, you know what she is going to say to you."
"Yes, that I'm an idiot girl that has never had to think for the good of all and had to make sacrifices." I huffed. "That's why I need you to get some people to agree with my decision. If she sees that it's not just me, won't she have to agree?"
Newt nodded in agreement and dropped his tools, placing a haste kiss on my lips before retreating into the looming darkness.

Naomi's house was the most impressive structure that had been created in the valley where we lived. A wooden porch wrapped around the two story building, half of a forest must've been chopped down just to supply enough wood for the first story.
I stood at the front door, hand raised and not breathing. Naomi was a force to be reckoned with, the obvious reason why no one had opposed her self appointed leadership. Her demeanor was strong enough to make a six foot tall runner wilt in fear.
The door swung open, Naomi glared down at me, "What are you here for this time? Is the dirt too dirty?"
I bit back a retort, knowing that if I let loose there would be no negotiation about hunting.

FanfictionOk. So this is my first fanfic and I probably won't do a good job on it, but it is worth a try. (y/n) your name. (Btw: I am horrible with titles) You wake up in the box, completely disoriented with no idea where you are or why you are there. When...
