Chapter 7

'I...I wanted to talk to you about something' Nandini said with a serious tone.

'Uhmm' he nodded his head telling her to continue, keeping his mug on the coffee table.

'Wo mai puch rahi thi ke...how much rent will I have to pay? I mean jab mai Yaha reh rahi hu sath me so...' Nandini started

'Umm...kuch bhi nahi' Manik replied

'Whattt! Manik please be serious.'Came the reply of a shocked Nandini.

'I am serious Nandini...Waise bhi ye sab meri wajah se hua hai...so I don't want any rent...aur aisa khana mile to mujhe kuch nahi chahiye...but haa...breakfast and lunch roz tum banaogi...lunch I will manage...ye packets ka kha kha ke thak gaya hu yaar' Manik pouted.

'Wo to I will make lekin I won't stay here without paying rent. So tell me how much ya mai chali jau' Nandini threatened.

'Ok fine...tum Jo hostel me pay karti thi wohi pay karo...lekin fir bhi tumhe Khana banana padega '

'Are you sure...I mean hostel ka rent bohot Kam nahi lagega ye bedroom ke mukable?'

'No it's fine'

'Ok then'

'Agar mai zyada rent bolta to tum kya karti? I mean you know...' Manik asked curiously.

'Wo I would've managed. Maine ek job ke liye apply kiya tha. There is a coffee shop nearby jaha vacancy hai for an accountant so I am trying there'

'But why do you want a job?... I mean tumhari studies kaise manage karogi fir'

'I'll handle it. Waise bhi ghar pe bore hojaugi so its better in a way. Hopefully aaj confirm hojaegi job.'

'Okay' he yawned.

'Tumhe abhi bhi nind aa rahi hai? You are really not a morning person hai na' she giggled.

Manik gave her a glare still yawning and got up from the sofa heading towards his room. 'Am going to get ready...see you later' he shouted without turning.

Nandini also got up and keeping both the mugs in the kitchen, she went to get herself ready for college. Meanwhile she also got a call from the coffee shop saying she got the job and could join from today. Her timings were after college from 3 to 7 which was very convenient for Nandini as her college finishes around 2.

Nandini's day at college went in a blur. She was now heading towards the coffee shop which was named as 'Café Treat' for her first day of work. She had texted Manik earlier about her confirmation of job and also told him that she was starting today. He had also wished her luck for her new beginning.

When she reached, she was introduced to the staff as a new member of their family. She also introduced herself and was surprised to see Shahid working there as a waiter for his part time. Shahid was also from space and in Nandini's class. They were not very great friends but they had a few conversations about notes and all.

Nandini was shown her desk where she had to sit and manage the cash. And from there, her life had taken another turn, making her more stronger than before. Making her an independent girl who could look after her needs.

A few days had passed and everything was in order. Manik was surprised at how ease they were living. They had managed everything together.

Manik didn't know what was the way of living with someone. When he was in Pune, their family was never complete. His sister was busy in her life, dad was busy managing the company and his mom....huh never mind.

He didn't remember when they all sat together at the dining table to have dinner. They were all staying at the same house but he would not see his dad for days, Though he was close to his sister. So when his sister got married, he shifted his school from Pune to Mumbai and stayed in a hosted. Warrior high was the school where he made his amazing friends.

And now, when he would wake up in the morning, he would often see with his sleepy eyes Nandini in the kitchen making breakfast. That would give him an unknown satisfaction. When he got up late, he would be disappointed not seeing Nandini as had left for college keeping his breakfast on the table. But having dinner together was a must.

As days passed, Manik couldn't help but think how cute Nandini was. She did all her work with perfection. She was so tiny and innocent. But being ting doesn't mean she wasn't beautiful.

He was used to be with a girl for sometime and leave her but staying with a girl without any relationship and being comfortable with her wasn't what he had imagined. They were not best friends and all but were quite comfortable with each other. Nandini also had become friends with Fab4. Well, not exactly friends but would wave at each other when the saw her or even a casual hi-hello.

Nandini spent her days in college and after that, cafe was her place. She also managed with her studies without any way. Shahid and Nandini had also become nice friends in the last few days.

It was Saturday when Manik got up from his deep slumber walking as if he was a zombie. He was so irritated and so much in anger when he got a call from Cabir at 3 in the morning telling him to open the door of his flat. Well actually there was a cricket match of India-South Africa to be held at 3 ISD which was being played in South Africa. Due to the timing difference, the poor cricket fans had to wake up in the middle of the night.

Cabir and Manik were the only mados from fab5 who would miss a match. Allowing Cabir inside, he went back to his room and washed his face so that he could shoo away the sleep but wasn't successful. He made his way back and slumped on the sofa. Cabir was sitting on a single seat sofa whereas Manik had two more seat vacant beside him, stretching his leg and keeping them on the coffee table.

Manik was again drifting to sleep when he heard Cabir shout 'ouutt' and clapping making Manik jump. Actually, it was Raina who caught the catch and Cabir being an excited soul jumped in happiness.

Manik heard footsteps behind him and turned to see Nandini standing behind him shocked moving her eyes between Manik and TV. She couldn't see Cabir as he was sitting on the other sofa.

'What.the.hell.is.going.on??' Nandini asked maintaining her calm and preventing the volcano from erupting...
