Chapter 14

'You like him' Tanu said as if she herself wasn't believing what she had just told.

'Kyaa' it was now Nandini's turn to be shocked.

'Ky-Kya bol rahi ho tum...aisa ku-kuch bhi nahi hai' Nandini said lowering her head and biting her lower lip and turned her face the other side with red cheeks.

'Miss Nandini murthy....' Tanu started with her interrogation to prove her point.

They were still surrounded by the crowd waiting to go out of the auditorium.

Nandini stopped her in between.

'I don't like him okay...mai use kuch mahino se hi jaanti hu... Maybe I am attracted towards him, but that's it!'

'Nandu...' Tanu started again, this time softly.

'Mai tumhe sirf ye kehna chahti thi ke maine tumhe aise bohot time baad dekha hai'

Nandini took a deep breath and said in a very low voice

'Mujhe pehle laga tha ke wo bohot arrogant hai, bohot attitude hai usme lekin nahi, wo aisa nahi hai. Mujhe lagta hai wo aisa sirf dusro ko dikhane ke liye karta hai. Wo kisi ko apne kareeb nahi aane deta.
But once you pass that line, the border he has created around himself, phir wo bohot acha hai. I think so waisa nahi hai Jo wo sabko dikhata hai. Aur mujhe jaanna hai us dusre Manik ko. Mai uske sath...uske sath safe feel karti hu' Nandini said and looked at her friend who was listening very carefully.

She continued again, this time with sadness in her voice.

'Lekin Kya pata...mai pehle bhi galat ho chuki hu...pehle Jo hua uske baad mujhe ye sab sai nahi lag raha hai...Aur waise bhi aisa thodi hai ke wo bhi mere baare me aise hi sochta hoga'

Nandini thought Tanu would freak out listening her. Being an overprotective friend she was, she would yell at her for having feelings for another guy who she doubted would break her heart.

Though Tanu and Manik were on talking terms, well not like best friends, but yeah they would talk to each other normally now without trying to rip each others head off. They would also joke with each other sometimes.

This friendship of theirs eased Nandini's life to a great extent. Well, when ones best friend and housemate are not on good terms, you become the scapegoat.

In reply to what Nandini told, Tanu said something which shocked Nandini to the core

'Ye Tum kaise keh sakti ho?'

Nandini looked at her with wide eyes. She never expected this reply from her friend.

'Tum...tumhe prob...'

Reading her mind and already understanding what Nandini wanted to say, Tanu smiled and said

'Tum meri behen jaisi ho Nandu. Lekin mai har bar tumhe protect to nahi kar sakugi na. Mere kuch bolne ya na bolne se tumhari feelings to change nahi hogi, haina '

Tanu took a pause, looking at Nandini's face, she continued

'Agar tum uske liye kuch feel karti ho, so give it a shot'

Nandini was still shocked listening to her friend. Never in her dreams she expected Tanu these words from Tanu. It seemed that her Tanu was replaced by another one.

'I know you can't believe ke mai tumhe yeh keh rahi hu... But I only want your happiness Nandu....uss incident ko bohot waqt hogaya hai...it's time ke tum apne dil ki deewaro ko hata do... Khush rehna sikho... Aur agar Manik tumhe Wo khushi de raha hai, then I don't have any problem...but haa, agar usne tumhe hurt kiya, to mai uska muh tod dungi'

'Uhh...thanks' Nandini finally replied recovering from her shock

'Aur mere dil me already koi hai..... Parth Samthaan' Nandini said trying to make the conversation lighter

Tanu chuckled 'He is soo hot'

'Nandinii' it was Navya who called Nandini from a few meters away, coming towards them through the crowd

'Navya' Nandini called with a smile

When she reached, she immediately embraced Nandini in a hug

'Mai tumhe kabse dhund rahi thi...Manik be bataya tha tum aarahi ho...lekin inti bheed me tum mili hi nai'

'Navya, ye Tanushree hai, my friend...aur Tanu ye Navya hai'

As both of were introduced, they went into their land of their own, introducing themselves further. Well, Tanu was mostly listening to Navya's rant being the talking girl she was.

They were now out of the auditorium, going through a passage, which would lead them out of the infrastructure.

Navya and Tanu were walking ahead, while Nandini was behind them. Being bored, Nandini took her mobile out and was about to text Manik saying she would be going home with Tanu.

Suddenly, as arm wrapped around her wrist and pulled her away from the crowd into a room, which had only a small bulb lit. The door was closed behind her. The fear which she thought she had left behind creeped back in her mind and her hands became sweaty.

As she opened her mouth to scream, a hand went straight to her mouth, preventing her from shouting. After that, she heard a chuckle. It sounded familiar. His lips moved near her ears, almost touching it as he said

'Hey, I am back!'

Hey, I am back! ;)
