Hey guys!!! Another update within 24 hours... Because I love you all :))
Enjoyyyy....
Nandini was curled up into a small ball under her blankets. Yes, it was cold outside, but the chill that kept her trembling had nothing to do with the temperature. Tears continued to run down her face for the past hour. It had gotten to the point where she had stopped wiping them from her face and simply let them wet her pillow.
Manik had given up a little time ago. He had kept asking her to open the door and continued to apologize. Even when he would not say anything she could hear him breathing from the other end of the door. She pictured him standing outside with his forehead resting on the door, but she couldn't reply even if she tried, and certainly not open the door.
After a long time, it seemed he had finally gotten the hint that she was not coming out anytime soon and walked away, to his room or out, she didn't know. Since then, she dragged herself to bed and just let go. She was too tired to block herself from the memories in her head, and simply gave into them.
Maddy and she had started dating within weeks of being introduced. Caught up in the first romantic relationship ever, and being noticed by the senior, Nandini didn't pay attention to the warning bells in her head until it was too late.
Once they had become official, to say Maddy had changed would be an understatement. Gone was the friendly, warm, caring guy and was replaced by a controlling, over possessive and short tempered guy.
She had ignored the starting of his temperament, as a slip in control but the things just got worse. He would snap at the smallest things like she missed his calls or had a small conversation with a guy. At seventeen, and having the very first relationship, Nandini didn't know what to do. She didn't have anyone to ask for advice, and neither could her friends solve her problems. Maddy's temper started getting to a point where Nandini was too scared to be around him, fearing that his temper would go to a stage where she could no longer feel safe with him.
So, she broke up with him. And to say, he did not like it in the least bit. He even refused to believe it. Only when she ignored him at college and didn't answer his calls, he backed down. That's what she thought. She was too scared to tell Amms about what happened. And only a few close friends knew about what was happening. So, thinking that Maddy had accepted their break up and moved on, she had just started her life again.
But one day had changed everything.
It had been a hot day in Mangalore. Her Amms had gone to her sister's house along with Rishab, and her Chacha-chachi had gone for a wedding, leaving Nandini at home as she couldn't miss her studies. The servant had only left for a day's leave few minutes ago after being forced by Nandini. It was then the door bell rang.
Already dressed in the night wear, Nandini answered it thinking it was probably the servant who might have forgotten something. But there was no one there. The next thing she knew, everything was blank.

That was when it hit her. The bars on the headboard of her bed were foldable to the side. If she pulled hard enough, it would come off.
Knowing it was probably her best shot, she pulled as hard as she could. The bar didn't come off cleanly, but she did manage to free her hands, ignoring the throbbing pain in her wrists.
Maddy took a moment to look up and that was the time she brought her joint hands and smacked him on the area where the shoulder and the neck meets. It must have been with enough force because he moved slightly and cursed.
