'Nandini come on! Jaldi karo.' She heard Shweta's voice call her urgently.

Nandini looked around but couldn't spot her best friend.

'Nandu!' Her friend's voice sounded as if she was too far from her.

'Shweta?' Nandini called, looking around for her.

Nandini recognised the road where she was. It was the road which lead to her school. She had been her so many times but now she couldn't see a single soul here. Only the streetlights were the source of light in the dark.

'Shweta! Tum kaha ho?', Nandini asked running around as she worried for her friend being in some trouble. But Shweta didn't answer her back.

'Shwetaaa!' She shouted looking around.

Suddenly she found herself in her house, in her room. Everything was the same as she had left it. It was dark but she could see from the small light coming from the streetlight outside her window.

She walked in the room looking around. She bent down and touched her soft pink comforter on her bed. Something was not right.

She turned around and saw something on the floor in the corner of her room. Very slowly, she moved towards it. As she went closer, she could see that it was a body. Her breath got stuck in her throat when she saw who it was. Nai, nai, plz nai...
She ran forward and knelt next to him.

'Jay!' She shouted shaking him by his shoulder. He didn't move as he laid on his chest, his face towards Nandini and his eyes closed.

'Nai, nai plz Jay...utho plz.' She shook him harder but he didn't move. Finally it struck her- her room, Jay, Shweta asking her to hurry....

She pressed her ear next to his face. He wasn't breathing! She looked around for any wounds or even blood but didn't find any.

'Jay utho plz... Hame yaha se jaana hoga...Jay!' She shook him again, panic clear in her voice. She knew what was going to happen. She couldn't stop it. Jay needed to wake up!

She halted in her tracks when she heard a sound behind her in the silent room. She was scared to death. She didn't want to turn. She knew what was going to happen. She stayed still, hoping he wouldn't see her. But she knew she wasn't that lucky. Gaining courage, she finally turned around towards the window.

There he was, standing near the window. She looked up in his face and immediately regretted as she saw his evil smile. Her hands were sweating and her breath shallow.

She slowly turned around back to Jay, only to see that his body wasn't there anymore. Now only the two of them remained. She was absolutely scared now.

She turned back only to see him standing just a few feet away. Maddy came forward and Nandini reflexively stepped back until her back touched the wall. Nandini felt as if she would faint looking at his face. He had blood on the left side of his face. Whose blood? Jay's?

Maddy kept on coming forward, his evil smirk still on his face.

'Ab tum bachke kaha jaogi?' He said with his face inches away from hers, increasing her fear.

Help...Maddy nahi plz...koi hai...help... She tried to shout but she nothing came out.

This was it! No one could help her now...

Nandini knew it was a dream. Somewhere in her mind she knew it, but she couldn't wake up even if she tried.

Just then, she felt strong arms wrapped around her body. Instead of jumping at the touch, she found herself relaxing. The arms held her tight and she heard a soft voice comforting her, due to which the nightmare had now gone. The last thing she felt was a pair of lips placing a soft kiss on her forehead before she went back into a peaceful sleep.
