I woke up early in the morning and got up quickly. It was an two hours and a half before school so I knew Chase was still asleep. Normally, if I woke up early, I'd wake Chase up just to brag about it. I changed into my uniform and fixed myself. I went downstairs straight to the dining room and poured some milk in my glass. I sat down in my usual seat, quietly eating my cereal. I was trying to be quiet, afraid Chase would wake up. While I was eating, I grabbed my phone and dialed Rose's number. The phone rung twice before she answered.
"Hello?" Rose answered groggily.
"It's me."
"Darn it, Sammy. Why on earth are you calling me two hours before school?! Are you trying to kill me or what? Aren't you supposed to be flirting with your Chasey baby right now? Don't you have anything better to do than waking up your sleeping best friend? Do you want me to beat up some--"
"He confessed." I said stopping her babble.
"Duh. I already know it. I knew you two will end up together. Why don't you sound happy? Don't tell me you're disappointed. Why? Didn't he have sex with you or he wasn't good--"
"He confessed that he loves Amber." I interrupted.
There was a long silence on the other line. A minute passed. Then another.
When I started thinking that she fell asleep, she spoke,
"Wait for me. I'll pick you up."
"Thanks."
I hung up. Rose knows me too well. I was thankful she didn't ask any question because if she did, I would have cried again. While waiting for Rose, I went back to my room to fix my bed. When I was done, I sat on the edge and stared at the floor.
I wasn't mad at Chase or Amber. It's not their fault that they like each other. I blamed myself for falling in love with Chase. I was sure I wasn't mad but I wasn't sure I could face them at my state. I needed time. Time to think and time to heal. The sight of them would be too much to bear. I had to avoid them in the meantime. I didn't want to lash out at them just because they share the same feelings. While I was thinking about those things, I heard a car pulled off. I looked outside my window and saw Rose's pink Ferrari. I went downstairs and was about to go out when I thought of Chase. The guy would have a heart attack if he walked into my bedroom and didn't find me. I didn't want him to worry about me. So I grabbed a pen and paper and wrote.
