The Date

So the day finally came.

The day I was dreading.

The day I'll break my heart.

The day Chase will ask Amber to be his girlfriend.

I woke up early to prepare their date. I bought the materials needed and Jake agreed to help me on preparing it while Chase flirts his head off with Amber. Rose has been busy with her new toy whose name I didn't even know. I've never seen the guy. But I found out that he's actually Jake's cousin. The thing is, Jake's cousin is just like Rose, he's also a player! So Jake said he wouldn't mind if Rose breaks his cousin's heart. From what I heard from other girls, Jake's cousin was even hotter than him. So if he's hot, I already know why Rose was always busy.

After my classes, I immediately met up with Jake. He was standing beside his car, holding his cell phone.

"Jake!"

He looked up and his face lit up when he saw me.

I reached him and smiled.

"You ready?" he asked and I nodded.

We first dropped by to my house to get the materials I bought earlier. Once we got everything, we went off to the romantic place Jake told me about.

He's right. The place was wonderful and I could feel the romance in the air.

It was like a big garden and on the center, there was a little house, surrounded with flowers.

"How did you find this place?" I asked.

"My parents love going here."

"Wow."

"I know, just wow." he smiled.

We started decorating the place and after two and a half hour, we were finally done.

We put up a table in the little house and set up the plates, glasses and utensils.

As for the food, I ordered from Amber's favorite restaurant.

I put up a stereo and speakers. Everything was set.

Jake and I stayed there to rest until we heard a car.

Jake looked at me knowingly and I nodded. We went out on the exit as I heard them entering on the entrance.

As Jake and I stood outside his car, he spoke.

"Let's go."

I shook my head.

"What?"

"I think I need some time alone. You can go now, thanks for everything."

"I can't just leave you here. Who would drive you home?"

"I'm a big girl, Jake. I can manage. Don't worry about it."

"You sure?"

I nodded.

"Fine. But if something happens, call me right away, okay?"

I smiled and nodded.

He went inside his car and started the engine. He looked at me one more time and I waved then he went off.

I went inside the garden again as I stared at Amber and Chase slow dancing to the song "I'll Be".

I don't know how long I've been staring at them.

I watched as they stared at each other lovingly.

I watched as Chase led up Amber out of the little house.

I watched as Chase bent on one knee in front of Amber.

I watched as he got a small box in his pocket and opened it.

I watched as Chase asked, "Amber Emiline Cook, will you be my girlfriend?"

I watched as she nodded with happy tears running down her face.

I watched as they kissed and the wind blew red petals from some roses.

That's when I noticed something wet dripping on my neck.

That's when I noticed I was crying nonstop.

That's when I noticed I just lost the man I love and I couldn't do anything to stop it.

'Cause his happiness is much more important than mine.

And I'd rather lose him forever than see him lose her forever.

I'd rather break my heart than watch him break his.

I'd rather cry myself to sleep than see him in pain.

soooo...my guy best friend gave my girl best friend a bouquet of red roses. And I just stood there watching as it happened. But of course, I was supposed to pretend that I didn't care. He's so sweet to me, so touchy and yet he loves HER , not me. I'm the one on his mind but she's the one in his heart.

'I've been very busy this week because my finals are coming. Another school year is about to end. And I really have to work hard to pass. Wish me luck!
