“Shut up! That’s not even possible.”
“It is possible.”
“Well, if he likes me then how come he’s with Amber?”
“Sam, some guys find it hard to figure out what they feel. They believe they love someone because they don’t want to complicate things.”
“Whatever. I’m not gonna fall for that one.”
“It’s not even a trap or a joke. “
“I know it’s not. But I don’t want to expect or hope for anything.”
“Well, you got that right. Hoping would end up in a heartbreak.”
“That’s what I’m talking about. And I’m perfectly fine with him not liking me more than a friend.”
“Are you sure with that?”
“Very.”
“If you say so. C’mon, hop in to the car.”
The drive to school was short so we didn’t get a chance to talk about serious things. We just related funny stories to each other.
As the car engine stopped, Jake opened the door for me.
“You’re such a gentleman.” I chuckled.
“Should I take that as a compliment?”
“You could.”
“Then thank you.”
I giggled.
“SAM! Where the hell have you been?”
I looked at the direction of the voice and yes, it was Chase, walking fast toward us.
Where the hell have I been?
Uh, didn’t he call me and I just told him that Jake and I dropped by a coffee shop?
Didn’t he hear me or he just loves making a scandal every time Jake and I were together?
He reached us and grabbed my hand.
“Chase, would you calm down? It’s not like he kidnapped me or something.”
“You don’t know him very well, he might be a kidnapper.”
“Uh, dude, I’m right here. I can hear you.”
“And you’re supposed to hear it.”
