"Please. I think it would be wonderful."

"Dan." He said again.

"I mean you can already see how well things are going? Don't you just feel like the house is more full of love?" I rambled on trying to convince him.

"Dan!" He said again making me stop begging him. "She's been here three days and I can't believe this is the first you are bringing it up. I like her, she reminds me of you and I've actually found myself caring about her a lot between the Tim Burton films and the bed time stories she makes me make up for her. I want to do this. We're on the same page, no more begging." He said surprising me.

"Are you serious?" I asked in a mixture of excitement and disbelief.

"Yeah, and I'm completely positive." He said. I moved his laptop off is lap and tree my arms around him.

"I can't believe this! I love you so much! I squealed as I gripped him tightly.

I woke up to crying in the middle of the night.

I sat up in bed with my first panicked thought being that there was something wrong with Megan, but I looked over to see Phil turned away from me, he hadn't been spooning against me like normal.

I quickly realized it was him.

"Phil?" I asked groggily but he didn't turn around nor stop his quiet sobs. "Phil?" I asked again and I put my hand on his shirtless shoulder but he stopped. "Phil, are you alright?" I asked still half asleep. He just sleepily rolled over and I saw his eyes were closed.

He had stopped crying and he was asleep so I guessed everything was alright, a bit strange of him, but he was alright none the less. I laid back down and went back to sleep almost instantly.

I got a coffee on the way as I walked Megan to school. She skipped along beside me as I held her hand. It had snowed a little last night so the ground was covered with a very thin dusting of the white powder. I was thankful I had gotten Megan a new and much warmer coat, hat and gloves while we were out yesterday.

"Daddy?" She asked.

"Hmm?" I asked as I took a sip of my hot coffee and felt it warm my insides.

"Are kangaroos real?" She asked as she jumped along the pavement.

"Yes, I've almost gotten to touch one but it slapped at me." I told her.

"How come I've never seen one?" She asks.

"They live in Australia. They like warm weather like crocodiles and alligators." I said.

"I think I'm a kangaroo, I like warm weather too." She said.

"I bet your great grandmother on your mum's side was a kangaroo." I said.

"Maybe." She said seeming to think about it making me smile. "Are unicorns real?"

"Hmm I don't know, I've never seen one." I told her.

"But you've seen everything!" She said.

"I haven't, there's plenty of things I haven't seen yet." I said.

"What happens when you do see everything? What then?" She asks.

"Wow. That's deep for a four year old." I said amazed. "Well, I suppose it's impossible to see everything in person in just one lifetime." I said and looked down at her disappointed looking face. "But who says you can't be the first?" I added making her sad face turn into a smile.

When I got back to the flat I almost ran into Phil who was putting his coat on as well.

"Are you going out?" I asked him.
