-Nicole's p.o.v.

I decided to take a break from moving boxes and took a little drive around the neighborhood to see what was close by. I found a little coffee shop and decided to grab something light to eat since I was still moving stuff. I ate outside on the patio since it was nice and cool not hot like it was back in Phoenix. After I finished eating I called my mom to tell her that I was okay. She said that my aunt and uncle stopped by earlier to say bye, but I had already left. I told her to tell everyone back home that I missed them and that I loved her. I left the coffee shop and headed back to the apartment complex and continued moving the rest of my boxes to the apartment.

"Gosh Nicole why the heck did you have to pack so much stuff" I said to myself as a struggled with the box. I was at the part of the complex where the elevators were and I couldn't push the button for the elevator because I didn't want to put the box down. So I kind of kicked the button.

"Come on elevator open up, this box isn't getting any lighter."

 *elevator bell rings*

 *doors open*

"Sweet!" I walked into the elevator and bam I crashed into someone.

"Woah! What the heck?"

"Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry. I couldn't see where I was going. The box is too big. Are you okay?"

"Yeah, I'm fine. It was kind of my fault too. I wasn't paying attention. I was too busy looking down at my iPod trying to pick a song."

I looked down at the box the I dropped and opened it to see what was inside because I heard something break.

"Aw man, my record player broke."

"I'm so sorry. I'll help pay for it." I closed the box and picked it up.

"No thanks, that's okay. I'm Nicole by the way. What's your name?"

"I'm Joseph. Are you sure? I feel bad for bumping into you?"

"Yeah I'm sure."

"Are you new here? I don't recognize you."

"Yeah, I just moved here from Phoenix. I'm finishing school out here."

"Ah cool, are you going to be attending the University down the street?"

"Yeah, you go there?"

"Yes, yesterday was my last day though."

"Aw lucky, I'm a nerd and decided to take summer classes."

"That doesn't make you a nerd. That just means that you're driven and focus on the important things." I showed a shy smile.

"Thanks."

"What are you majoring in?"

"I'm majoring in art, I want to become an art teacher. What about you?"

"Hm, haven't really decided yet. Maybe something to do with music since I'm taking a bunch of music classes."

"Cool, do you play an instruments?"

"Yeah, I play the ukulele, guitar, and I also sing."

"Whoa, you're really talented. I used to play the viola and guitar, but then I got too busy with school."

"Aw dang that sucks."

*elevator door opens.*

"Yeah, I've been wanting to play for a while now."

I walked out of the elevator.

"We should jam out sometime."

"That would be cool. Aren't you getting out?"

"No, I'm actually going out for a run. I forgot to get out of the elevator on the first floor because someone bumped into me." He smiled.

"haha whoops, well have a good run."

"I will, don't crash into anyone else today. Welcome to the neighborhood."

"Thanks, bye Joseph."

"Bye Nicole."

*elevator door closes*

I walked to my apartment door and put the box down. I opened the door and slid the box the rest of the way. I started unpacking my things for the living room and couldn't stop thinking about Joseph's smile. He was so cute and sweet. I loved his light colored eyes. He actually offered to pay for the record player. Most guys wouldn't have done that. I shook my head to make myself stop daydreaming about him and continued unpacking my stuff until I decided to go to sleep. I fell asleep on the couch since I hadn't started unpacking the stuff for my room.

-Joseph's p.o.v

After I finished with my run I went back to my apartment and found Eric watching TV.

"Hey Jo, how was your run? Did you get chased by any dogs this time?"

" Haha, it was good, and no thank God." I walked to the refrigerator to find something to drink. I could feel Eric staring at me from across the room.

"Why are you staring at me weird?"

"What's up with the huge smile on your face?"

"Oh, dude I met this awesome girl in the elevator this morning. Her name's Nicole. She seems pretty cool."

"Was she hot?"

"What?! Is that all you think about when it comes to girls?"

"Uh yeah, I'm a guy, duh!"

"Haha I'm a guy too, but I care about other stuff too." He rolled his eyes at me as if he was annoyed about what I said. He lightly punched him in the shoulder for that.

"Ow, what the heck man? What was that for?"

"For acting like a jerk. You need to be more nice to girls." He looked down because he knew I was right.

"Yeah you're right, Jo. I need to start showing some manners." I laughed and said." Yeah that's true." I walked to my room and downloaded some new music for the summer music class that I would be helping out with. After a while I started getting sleepy and fell asleep thinking about when I would see Nicole again.
