I kept pushing the 'snooze' button on my alarm clock. I set it for noon, but I ended up waking up at two. Oh well, I still had two hours until Sarah would drop off Aaron. I made myself a sandwich for "lunch" and watched an old episode of Supernatural before I started cleaning up the living room.
I made sure to put all of my art stuff in my room so Aaron wouldn't miss with them. After that I washed the dishes and then my phone rang:
"Hello?"
"Hey Nicole, it's Sarah. We're on our way to your place."
"Okay, I'll see you guys soon."
"Bye."
I watched like half of another episode of Supernatural before I heard a knock at the door. I changed the TV to Nickelodeon. I didn't want Aaron to be scared if he watched Supernatural. I got up from the couch and walked to the door to let Sarah and Aaron in.
"Hi Nicole."
"Hi Sarah, happy birthday."
"Thanks."
"And you must be Aaron."
I kneeled down to be the same height as him. He was shy and hid behind Sarah.
"Say hi Aaron."
Sarah kindly pushed him forward. He kept looking down at his feet.
"Hi."
"Hi Aaron, I like your hair."
"Thank you."
He had it spiked up. Kinda like a little mohawk.
"Do you wanna watch some cartoons?"
He quickly put his head up and smiled.
"Yeah!"
Me and Sarah laughed.
"Okay, it's showing right now if you want to go watch TV."
He ran passed me and sat on the couch.
Sarah shook her head.
"Well, here is his booster seat just in case you guys go out somewhere. Do you know how to buckle it in?"
"Uh, I'm sure I can figure it out."
"Haha okay, well we'll try to be back by midnight."
"Okay, no rush. It's your birthday, just have fun."
"Haha okay thanks. Hey Aaron come here and say bye."
"Okay!"
He came running to hug Sarah.
"I love you mama."
"I love you too. Make sure you behave for Nicole, okay?"
"I will."
He ran back to the couch.
"Hope he doesn't give you any trouble. If he does just give me a call."
"That's okay. He seems to be doing fine now."
"Alright, well I'm gonna head out now. Marc is waiting in the car down stairs."
"Okay, you guys have fun and be careful."
"We will. Bye Nicole."
"Bye."
I shut the door and sat next to Aaron on the couch.
"Are you hungry or thirsty?"
"Yeah, do you have any juice?"
"Yeah I should. Do you like apple juice?"
